This is an opportunity for people wanting to start a career in the Construction industry to get 2 weeks construction training ‘crash course’ in one or two of the following: Bricklaying, Electrical, Plastering, Plumbing, Sealants, Roofing, Joinery or Painting & Decorating and a two week work experience placement on the Manor Boot housing development site in S2.
Selection sessions will be at Bailey Court Jobcentre on Wednesday 26th February 20 at 10:30am and 12pm in the basement area.
Training will start Monday 2/3/20 to Friday 13/3/20 for 2 weeks followed by a 2 week placement on Manor Boot housing development site 16/3/20 to 27/3/20.
** Please note that participants will take the CSCS tests during the academy but a card will only be funded on job offer**

What Will The Role Involve?
As one of our Waste Water Operators, you will be responsible for operating and optimising the performance of our waste water sewage pumping stations. You will drive environmental compliance and excellent standards in health and safety whilst working as part of the Operational Team to deliver exceptional performance against stretching targets.
This role incorporates a range of tasks including manual operations, taking and analysing evidential water samples and operating computer-controlled processes. You will take personal responsibility for yourself and others when it comes to Health and Safety to ensure compliance with Yorkshire Water policies.
We will provide a structured development programme which will include training in both manual handling and confined spaces. Your personal and professional development will be supported by your manager and all pertinent technical training will be provided.
What Key Skills & Experience Are We Looking For?
•Valid Full Driving Licence is essential as you will be required to travel to various operational sites daily
•Comfortable taking a hands-on approach to work tasks and working outdoors in all weathers
•Previous experience using IT systems as you will be using both a Toughbook and Mobile Computer Device.
•Confident communicating with external subcontractors/partner agencies and internal colleagues
•Willingness to undertake training in manual handling and confined spaces

This vacancy is on a fixed term/ secondment basis for 6 months. Secondments will be considered for NHSBT staff wishing to apply for this role.
As a vital member of our team operating a 24/7 service you will be providing a safe and professional service, collecting and delivering blood products, equipment and staff to hospitals, blood centres and blood collection sites throughout the country. This could include emergency ‘blue light’ deliveries.
We’re looking for an experienced commercial driver holding a full UK driving licence. This must include C1 or C category, permitting you to drive vehicles up to and including 7.5 tonnes. Category D1 and D is also preferred. You should also be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and have experience of dealing professionally with members of the public. You will be required to work evenings, weekends, nights and bank holidays on a 24/7 roster. A uniform will be provided and you will be given an induction, training and development opportunities.
