Castleview Spring Challenge – Primary 1 It’s hard to believe the Easter holidays are here in this strange time we are experiencing. It is important to recognise the holidays and have a rest and a break. However this is tricky whilst we are all doing social distancing and staying at home. So here is a holiday challenge, Can you do these 10 things ? 1. Cotton bud painting. Use a cotton bud to do dot painting to decorate a picture of an Easter egg. 2. DIY Bird Feeder. Reuse your old milk cartons to a make a bird feeder to put in your garden or kitchen window! With an adult cut a hole in the side of the milk carton. *Be careful not to put peanuts in your bird feeder! These can be harmful to baby birds!* 3. Skittles rainbow experiment. Put skittles round the edge of the plate in rainbow order. Add a little water and watch all the colours run to make a rainbow. 4. Use natural materials found in your garden or close to your home to create a spring picture collage or can you make on that looks like an animal? 5. Do you have any spare or leftover vegetables? Can you make a tasty soup? What skills did you use, chopping, grating? Can you name all the veg used? 6. Can you use natural materials to make a home for an animal or something else? Who lives there? What features does it have? 7. Can you spot any signs of spring? Can you find any caterpillars? What will they become? Can you see any birds nests? What might be in them? Have you spotted any spring 8. Can you make a Spring animal out of an old egg carton? Which animal have you made?

It’s hard to believe the Easter holidays are here in this strange time we are experiencing. It is important to recognise the holidays and have a rest and a

break. However this is tricky whilst we are all doing social distancing and staying at home. So here is a holiday challenge, Can you do these 10 things ?

9. Regrow a lettuce. Put the stump of a lettuce head in a shallow dish of water and leave somewhere sunny. Watch as new leaves grow.
