Writing tasks
Monday To create an expanded noun phrase. An expanded noun phrase is a phrase made up of a noun (thing) and at least one adjective. e.g. The red, spotty cup was on the hard, brown table. Watch link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zwwp8mn/articles/z3nfw6f
Whose suitcase is it? How many can you describe? Write at least 5 sentences.
e.g. The pink, stripy suitcase might belong to a cheeky little girl.

Use the picture above to fill in the adjective mind map (Below table) Remember to describe the dog, donkey and grass.

Using your mindmap of adjectives create a detailed setting description of the animals below.
Remember to include adjectives about:
- Feelings - Temperature - Size - Colour - Shape - Texture - Many

Challenge: Read your description to a member of your family. Can they guess which animal you are describing?
Thursday To write a narrative Using the pictures below write a story of what has happened.
E.g. Slowly and quietly he crept downstairs. One step at a time he looked all around him to see if anyone was watching! He had to make sure it was a surprise.

Walking carefully back up the stairs, the tray felt very heavy! He didn’t want to spill any so he took his time balancing it.
He finally got to the room to surprise his Mum, when the silly cat twirled around his feet. “Oh no!” he cried, as the tray, he so carefully prepared went flying!
