Journal Entry #3: Semester Project Brainstorm Assigned 9/11/15As we have reviewed the steps to decision making and the components of what makes a good goal, it’s time we apply these skills to beginning your “True to You” Challenge. For journal entry 3, students were to brainstorm aspects of their health that they would like to improve upon. The three categories to brainstorm ideas for include: 1) physical health, 2) mental/emotional health (for the sake of this project we’re merging these two categories into one) and 3) social health. By the first binder check, students should have a number of ideas listed/described so that they might receive some feedback from the instructor. Seek the opinions/perspectives of others, like friends and family members, if you are struggling to come up with weaknesses to work on…we all have them and they might be more obvious to other people!

Use each step of the decision-making model steps to come to a decision, and justify why you made that decision. Practice empathy by thinking about and appreciating how a parent/guardian might feel and respond to the scenario. For the purposes of this activity there are no right or wrong answers, but you must realistically justify your decision as a parent/guardian might. Lots of detail and thought reflected in your writing please!
