On the computer with the thick-client installed, go to C:\Program Files\Bentley\AssetWise Performance Management\bin and run the Ivara Configuration tool

Click on the Configuration button and choose SELECTserver Permissions.

Click Browse. In the dialogue that opens, enter DOMAIN\username of the user who runs the thick-client.

Run “Check Names”, if the entry was valid, you should see the user underlined. Click OK.

Back on the “Grant Permissions … “ dialogue window click the “Grant Permissions” button.

Now that the user is granted permission to edit the registry, you can close the “Grant Permissions …” dialogue window.

Lastly click the “Product Activation Wizard”.

Follow the prompts and enter the proper activation key when asked. For more detailed instructions on how to do this check the APM Installation Guide > Activating APM Software section (page 30-32).
