My life has been much better than I deserve. I have had good times and bad times, as I assume all have had. MAHS was a fun time for me as all will probably agree. I started out living paycheck to paycheck. Now, through hard work and long hours, I am living the good life, direct deposit to direct deposit.

Lifelong friends made there have seen me through some hard times.

We are all now approaching middle age. I always assumed I would get old, just didn’t know it would happen this soon.

One of my favorite memories was getting a hall pass and signing out to go the “Health Center”. This worked twice. The third time a friend and I were shooting pool. Someone bounced a quarter on the table and asked to play the winner. It was JD Bartley! We really did not get into too much trouble but that incident was a lesson learned.

There were many great teachers at MAHS. I really did not take advantage of all the learning opportunities that were available, and for this I am sorry. Every time I look at Facebook, I am glad that I did learn some grammar!

Both of my children graduated from MAHS as well as my wife’s two. Funny story on her two. The older son had not been acting right and she asked the younger son what was up with his brother. His response was “Don’t you know? He is in danger of making the Honor Roll.”

After college I had several jobs that just went away. They were in the furniture and textile manufacturing industries. I have built houses for myself and flipped a couple. I continue to work and currently run a screen and digital printing company that prints industrial graphics in Greensboro NC for a Denver, Colorado company.

In life I have failed to prepare for retirement. I do not play golf, hunt or fish. We all need an excuse to get up in the morning.

One of my disappointments in life happened just last week. After seeing ads on television and in print concerning the need for blood, I decided to go to donate blood. Right away they started asking me whose blood this is and where did it come from. I just left.

I do enjoy my time with my wife Scharla. We have been married twenty-two years and trust me, I am not easy to live with so she is almost a saint. I have traveled both for work and for pleasure. Some of our favorite trips were when my daughter and her family were in Germany. We went to visit twice and saw lots of Europe. Our favorite place is on the coast of North Carolina and we are there as often as possible.

I have one daughter and my wife has two sons. We have eight grandchildren. I lost my son to an automobile accident in 1996.

I continue to enjoy life and still do crazy things. It just takes longer.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
