PAUL’S STORY
This is Paul Paul lives at Sunnyside
Sunnyside is a care home Other people live there too
Paul has lived at Sunnyside for a very long time
Paul likes living at Sunnyside He has lots of friends there
There is a manager and lots of staff to look after Paul
Paul has his own bedroom but he has to share the other rooms with the other people that live there
Paul makes some But sometimes he has And sometimes the choices to make joint decisions manager will make for himself with other residents decisions for Paul
These are some of the things Paul likes to do………
BUT………….
Paul doesn’t get to do the things he likes very often
This is because……..
He doesn’t have There aren’t enough staff The car isn’t always enough money available
Other people The manager says no There isn’t enoughliving at Sunnyside time don’t want to

The social worker talked about moving from Sunnyside to Paul
The social worker talked about living somewhere else
This is Station Road
If Paul left Sunnyside and moved to Station Road
Other people would live there but….
He would have his own flat with his own ….
Bedroom kitchen lounge and bathroom
He might have his own car
Station Road would A carer would stay with Paul’s own place Paul all of the time
The carer would help Paul to….
Cook Keep his flat tidy Look after his money
Make all his own
And do all of the things he Choices wants to do
At Station Road………
Paul wouldn’t need to worry about having enough staff
what other people transport time living there want
How do you think living at Station Road would make Paul feel?

Paul is unsure what He likes the idea of to do Station Road
But he is worried…….. about leaving Sunnyside
About leaving his room about leaving his staff
About leaving the manager and about leaving the other other people that live there
The social worker and talk to Paul the manager
They say
Paul can bring all the things from his bedroom at Sunnyside with him to his bedroom at Station Road
Paul can go with to visit Sunnyside, the manager, staff his carer and people that live there anytime he
wants to
The manager, staff and can visit Paul at Station people that live at Road anytime they like
Sunnyside
