Peter Pan Directed and Directed by: Robert Zimmerman and Shirley Novoletsky Vision From fairy dust to sword fights, Peter Pan takes us on a journey through the conflicting worlds of childlike imagination and crushing grown-up- centered realism. Peter Pan shows us the importance of staying young at heart and the potential consequences of not growing up (or not growing up). How do we illustrate the simultaneous existence and interaction of youth and maturity, joy and wickedness, trust and deceit, playfulness and danger? Peter Pan has been told so many ways, so many times, that we thought we would take the story into a new realm: Science Fiction. The Sci-Fi sphere holds great potential for both playfulness and danger. In our vision for Peter Pan, the story takes place in the high-tech year 2090; however, the essence of the story will still be grounded in fantasy. The story of Peter Pan demands the experience of wild adventure full of imagination and action, and by setting it partially in space and on a new planet, we can explore Never Never Land’s whimsical nature in a manner that unlocks creative doors that have yet to be opened in this famous story. We will not feel bound to follow the designs of the past; however, we will incorporate classic aspects of the design while giving them a futuristic nuance. We feel that in our evolving world, where we are increasingly influenced by technology, we can shed new light on this classic story. The story of Peter Pan is universal. We could set it any place, any time and people would identify with it, but by giving Peter Pan a futurist twist, we can probe the minds of the audience that relates to our contemporary society. Will the kids a hundred years from now grow up even faster than we did?

Vision

From fairy dust to sword fights, Peter Pan takes us on a journey through the conflicting worlds of childlike imagination and crushing grown-up-centered realism.
