Math Task Graph It! 

1.Create a list of all the items you can find in your fridge!  2.Sort the items into 5 categories (dairy, fruit, vegetables, meat, and other). 3.Create a bar graph or pictograph to show how many you have of each category. 4.Make your scale either 2 or 5 depending on how many items you have. *Extension: Create a word problem to go with your graph!

Collaboration Travel Brochure Visit the website to

see an interactive map of the southern states! Discuss what you notice with your family. Afterwards,

create a travel brochure about which of the southern states you’d like to

visit! Be sure to include facts, drawings/pictures, and explain WHY! 

Communication Research Project 

Research a baseball player of interest! Make a foldable,

poster, journal entry, or baseball card about your player. You will

share your research during a class ZOOM meeting!  

 *Extension: Add text features in your work!  

Family Time Movie Premiere 

Plan a movie night for you and your family. Write a schedule of

the showtimes. Create movie tickets for family members

attending the movie premiere. Extension: Find elapsed time from the start of the movie to the end of the movie. 

Chef time Concession Stand  

Record a video of you making a snack you would eat at a baseball game. Explain to the audience how to make it and why it’s your go-to baseball snack! *Extension: Create a detailed menu to go with your meal! 

Journal writing Wise Words 

Babe Ruth once said, “It’s hard to beat a person that never gives up.” 1.What does this mean to you? 2.How can you apply this to your own life? *Extension: Display your response on your sidewalk or in your window for everyone to see! 

Critical thinking Symbolization 

Create a symbol to represent Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell,

and Captain Hook. Describe how your symbols represent the

characters. What events in the story support your reasoning?

*Extension: Share your symbols on Flipgrid and respond to 1 classmate!

 

Citizenship Pass the Apple 

Play “Pass   the   Apple ” and discuss how the game relates to good

sportsmanship. Share with a family member why it’s important for team

members to have this quality?

CLA Keeping “CHARGED UP” with Special Areas for 3rd – 6th Grade

MusicPractice singing the Star-Spangled Banner like you learned in 3rd grade music class.  Then, pretend that you have been asked to sing our national anthem at a baseball game with thousands of people in attendance.  Approach your pretend mic, sing for the audience, and be proud!

Library

Grab a sheet of paper. How high a structure can you build with it? You can tear, cut, or fold it. No tape, glue, staples, or clips allowed!

Write a journal entry of your day. What did you do?Who did you talk to? 

Would you rather...Be able to fly?   OR     Be able to hear everyone’s thoughts? Why? Dojo me your answer! 

Read or research about a baseball player. Then create your own baseball card. Post it on Dojo!

Art

Can you design your very own baseball card? Think about your stats--what position do you play? You can choose the team you want to play for, or you can create your own team! If you create your own team, be sure to create a uniform for your baseball card that reflects who you are and your interests.

Remember that complimentary colors make the best team uniforms. Have fun and let’s see those stats! I bet you can hit A LOT of homeruns!
