Email Subject Line: Halloween Pet Adoption Spooktacular at Goleta Shelter
Dear Ms. Doe,
There is an upcoming local adoption event with a Halloween theme being held in Goleta by a
nonprofit animal shelter. From Oct. 26 through Nov. 4, Treehouse Animal Shelter will be hosting a
Halloween Pet Adoption Spooktacular. This event will feature reduced adoption fees of $10 per animal,
Halloween refreshments, and animals dressed in Halloween costumes. The shelter cares for a wide variety
of animals available during the event, ranging from dogs and cats to an iguana and even a pot-bellied pig!
Since Treehouse Animal Shelter was the brainchild of Patricia Torres, an Isla Vista resident, this
story would be of local and community interest to your readers. With the Christmas season quickly
approaching and the variety of animals available during the event, your readers will be screaming with
excitement to bring home a furry (or scaly) friend!
Please consider spreading the word about the local and charitable event. Treehouse Animal
Shelter is at 1417 Green Ave. in Goleta and is open 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on
weekends. The shelter’s phone number is (805)667-2412 and their website is www.treehouse_shelter.org.
Contact me for more information regarding the event or Treehouse Animal Shelter. Thank you in advance
for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Sandra Dieron

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kreative Krusts Launches New Line of Gourmet Frozen Pizzas
MIAMI, FL., Oct. 24, 2018 – Kreative Krusts has announced the launch of a new line of gourmet
frozen pizzas with unique crusts that will be sold in retail grocery stores.
Kreative Krusts Pizza will be available nationwide in Safeway and Kroger stores beginning Dec.
1. The line will include three pizzas in which the crust takes center stage.
“Drawing on my experiences from my childhood in Orvieto, Italy and recipes from my
grandmother, I have worked to develop flavorful pizzas that can be enjoyed easily from home,” said Tony
Bianchi, Italian bakery chef and Kreative Krusts chief idea officer.
The line of frozen pizzas marks the first consumer products that the company has released. The
pizzas have a deep golden crust that is either infused with a buttery blend of garlic and spices, brushed
with authentic pesto, or topped with crumbled Italian Pecorino Romano cheese. Available toppings
include cheese, spinach, pepperoni, Italian salami, sausage, Italian olives, bacon, red onions, and green
and red peppers.
Jane Smith, mother of four and president of Busy Moms of America, said that with the increased
emphasis on extracurricular activities for kids, parents across America are scrambling to find quick and
easy dinner options. “My kids usually hate the crusts on frozen pizzas because they are too thin and bland
to serve their families,” she said. “I’m optimistic that Kreative Krusts’ different crusts will interest my
kids and will hopefully fill them up more than other frozen pizzas we have tried in the past.”

Fact Sheet
Fact Sheet: Why Big Cats Need A Larger, More Natural Habitat in Captivity
The San Francisco chapter of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is protesting today to
demand that the San Francisco Zoo free all its big cats to their natural habitats in the wild unless it
develops a much larger, more natural Big Cat Country exhibit. Zoo visitors can show their support for the
humane treatment of big cats and PETA’s demands by not entering the zoo when it reopens Big Cat
Country today.
Tragic Incident Involving an Agitated Tiger
On Christmas Eve, 2017, a 300-pound Siberian tiger escaped from his outdoor enclosure in Big Cat
Country. The tiger chased down three teenage boys who had been taunting it and mauled two of the boys
and killed the third. The 6½-foot fence around Big Cat Country was two feet shorter than zoo officials
originally specified, which made it possible for the agitated cat to jump over. The tiger was shot and
killed.
Large Cats Need Much Larger Habitats
Sara Gupta, staff veterinarian at PETA, has noted that relatively small enclosures, such as San Francisco
Zoo’s Big Cat Country, are very different from the natural habitat of big cats. Gupta said that the zoo’s
Big Cat Country is really a prison for the animals and that cats like Siberian tigers roam many square
miles of territory in the wild. Zoos are forcing these animals to live in small areas where they have little
privacy; are constantly surrounded by noisy, gawking visitors; and where they lack space to run. Science
magazine reports that the more an animal roams in the wild, the worse it fares in captivity. Not only
would larger habitats for each species of cat enhance the quality of life for big cats, but zoo visitors’
experiences would also improve since they would be able to witness more natural behavior by the
animals.
It’s Time for Justice for Big Cats
The San Francisco Zoo has installed a 9-foot fence around Big Cat Country and plans to station
employees near the exhibit during peak visitor times, but this is not enough. To facilitate a healthier
lifestyle for big cats in captivity, PETA is calling on the San Francisco Zoo to expand its Big Cat Country
to better mimic the animals’ lives in the wild. If you care about the wellbeing of captive exotic cats,
support PETA’s demands by not entering the zoo until its big cats are given a larger enclosure. If the zoo
continues to ignore the wellbeing of the big cats and allows them to live an unhealthy, unnatural lifestyle,
PETA requests that the San Francisco Zoo return the animals to the wild.
About PETA
PETA is the largest animal rights advocacy organization in the world. PETA focuses on the four areas in
which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest period of time: in
laboratories, in the food industry, in the clothing industry, and in the entertainment industry. PETA works
through public education, cruelty investigations, research, rescue, special events, and protest campaigns.
The San Francisco chapter of PETA is responsible for the demonstration today at the San Francisco Zoo.
