5.2- Using Linear Equations in Slope-Intercept Form
Steps to writing an equation in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b)
Step 1: Identify the Slope.
Step 2: Use the slope and one of the points to solve for the y-intercept.
Step 3: Plug in your slope and y-intercept to write an equation in slope-intercept form.

5.3- Writing Equations in Point-Slope Form
Point- Slope Form: y− y1=m(x−x1)
Step 1: Find the slope. Step 2: If more than one point is given, then choose one of the points. Then use that
point and the slope to write your equation in point-slope form. Step 3: Don’t distribute. Leave it in point-slope form. It is not pretty, but it is correct.
