People tend to do what others around them are doing. It’s a normal part of human behavior. Most people want to fit in.
Psychologists have found that being part of a social group can have a big influence on an individual. If someone wants to belong to a group or doesn’t want to disagree with others, they might change what they’re saying or doing to fit in with the group.
“Fitting in” has some downsides, but being part of a group can also be a positive thing. Teens who have strong relationships with others can enjoy common interests and have friends to rely on for support.
