1) Understand the Scientific Method, and be able to use the names of the steps in a conversation about the process. You don’t need to memorize, just be able to describe each step in your own words and give an example of what that would look like. The steps you will be tested on:

Question > Research> Hypothesis > Experiment > Record & Analyze Data > Conclusion > Share

This is a sample of “Doodle Notes” on the Scientific Method. The point of this is to become a natural at restating explanations in your own summarized terms, and organize them on paper in a way that you understand the meaning and enjoy your note taking and studying. If you needed to copy this word for word, that’s okay – but work towards doing your

own rephrasing. You are strengthening your comprehension skills!

2) Variables are critical to any experiment.

Be able to explain and identify INDEPENDENT and DEPENDENT VARIABLES.

3) You must be able to identify science lab tools and what their functions are. Study the chart in your INB and check yourself using the Quizlet linked at the top of this page!

4) Graphs: Know what circle, line, and bar graphs look like, and how to decide when to use each type.
