The hill is a popular tourist destination and can be ascended by the Lycabettus Funicular, a funicular railway which climbs the hill from a lower terminus at Kolonaki (The railway station can be found at Aristippou street). Lycabettus appears in various legends. Popular stories suggest it was once the refuge of wolves, which is possibly the origin of its name (means "the one [the hill] that is walked by wolves"). Mythological, Lycabettus is credited to Athena, who created it when she dropped a mountain she had been carrying from Pallene for the construction of the Acropolis after the box holding Erichthonius was opened. The hill also has a large open-air theater at the top, which has housed many Greek and international concerts.

#7 Cape Sounion Tour (approximate 4hrs)

In the afternoon, visit of the Cape Sounion. Driving along the coastal road and passing by the coastal resorts of Athens to the Temple of Poseidon which stands through the centuries over the Aegean sea at the edge of an impressive rock with the most breathtaking views of the Saronic Gulf. The sanctuary at Sounion is one of the most important sanctuaries in Attica. Sporadic finds point to the conclusion that the site was inhabited in the prehistoric period but there is no evidence of religious practice in such an early date.The Sanctuary of Sounion is first mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey, as the place where Menelaos stopped during his return from Troy to bury his helmsman.The finds of the 7th century B.C. are numerous and prove the existence of organized cult on two points of the promontory: at the southern edge where the Temenos of Poseidon was situated, and about 500 m. to the NE of it, where the sanctuary of Athena was established. From here the views to the Aegean sea are breathtaking and if you are lucky you will discover where Lord Byron carved his signature. Viewing the sunset from the Temple is a unique experience not to be missed. We leave Cape Sounion and return to Athens

#8 Full Day Argolis Tour (approximate 8hrs)

Meet with your Guide and depart for a full day Private Tour to the Peloponnese peninsula. Drive along the coastal road of the Saronic Gulf until we reach the Corinth Canal with its breathtaking view (short stop for photos). Then drive to MYCENAE (Visit). Mycenae 'Rich in Gold', the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon, first sung by Homer in his epics, is the most important and richest palatial centre of the Late Bronze Age in Greece. Its name was given to one of the greatest civilizations of Greek prehistory, the Mycenaean civilization .

After the visit , drive to Epidaurus . On the headland called "Nesi" at Palea Epidaurus, the theatre of the ancient city is quite well-preserved, in the shape it acquired during the latter years of its function. Apart from a few rows of seats, the cavea is made of limestone with poros staircases.Until now, nine cunei with eighteen rows of seats have been excavated, which originally could accommodate about 2000 spectators. All the benches and thrones of the theatre carry inscriptions with the names of the donors while implying a direct relationship of the monument with the cult of Dionysus.

The theatre is marvelled for its exceptional acoustics, which permit almost perfect intelligibility of unamplified spoken word from the proscenium or scene to all 12,000 spectators, regardless of their seating.

Meet with your Guide and depart for a full day Private Tour to Delphi , passing by the towns of Thebes, Levadia and Arachova.
