Word Study Writing Math Geography and Science

Students will have their first word study quiz this Friday, September 20.

Students will be learning about onomatopoeia and imagery in Writing this week.

o Students will learn about factors, divisibility rules, prime and composite numbers, and prime factorization using factor trees. There will be a quiz on Friday.

o Students will learn about the continents and oceans, latitude and longitude, and absolute and relative location.

o Students will be learning about the Scientific Method and Scientific inquiry. Your child will be completing various experiments and activities to learn about the Scientific Method. Please help your child study the steps of the Scientific Method in order to prepare for their quiz. There will be a quiz next week. Please check your child’s planner this week for the exact date.

your child has their sketchbook in school

Notes from the teachers:Monday Folders will be coming home today. The papers

on the left hand side of the folder are from the school and can be left at home. All of your child’s graded papers and

science activities will be stapled together on the right hand side of the folder. Please sign the quiz on top to

indicate that you have seen the packet, and RETURN THE PACKET TO SCHOOL ON TUESDAY. We keep these packets

for our data, and it is very important that we get these back. Your child will get all of their packets back at the

end of the year. Thank you for your help with this!This week for Grammar, your child will be learning about verbs

and adverbs. Please help your child study for their Friday Grammar Quiz using the notes in the Grammar section of their binder. Thank you!
