Task 1: "Tapas" are introduced to students as part of Spanish culture. Students will have to investigate the menu of a Spanish tapa's bar and they will have to complete a table introducing the name of ingredients in Spanish. Students will review the verb "Gustar" (To like) to express their like or dislike of particular types of food.

Task 2: Students will have to create their own tapa, specifying the tapa's name, price and ingredients. They will have to write a comment recommending the tapas to potential customers.

Task 3: Spanish eating habits are introduced to students showing different customs in relation to food. Students will have to research a very famous Spanish restaurant in Madrid and establish if a number of statements are true or false. In order to develop their critical thinking skills, students cannot use their dictionaries for this task.

Task 4: Students will have to translate sentences from English to Spanish and record them with their voice. Students have to investigate the menu of the restaurant and recommend a dish and explain why they recommend that particular dish.

Task 5: Using Sway, students will have to create their menu. Students can choose to create a menu for a traditional restaurant or for a tapas bar. In order to differentiate the task, different objectives for the activity are introduced to students. They must create a Spanish name for the restaurant and they must give a choice of dishes, including desserts. Students should include the ingredients of those dishes and write customer reviews using the past tense. Students could use the conditional to recommend a particular dish and advertise a special event coming up using the future tense. Students will present their menus in the following lesson.

Follow-up Activity: A Spanish Food day could be organised in the school. Teacher and students could prepare some typical Spanish food and served as Tapas to rest of students in the school during break.
