Red Dragon

Firstly for one minute and twenty-five odd seconds we see a small scene where cop who has just discovered something important gets stabbed in the gut by the murderer, instantly this shows the violence and drama that will likely continue throughout the film. During this scene the murderer mentions how he’s going to eat the cop’s heart, this furthermore shows the amount of gore and violence that will occur and perhaps how the murderer is a cannibal. At the end of this clip the Cop stabs the Murder with serval arrows in the same place he himself was stabbed, before the murderer goes to attack again you can clearly see his facial expression change giving off the psychopathic vibe of this character.

After this scene we see a book full of cut out newspaper pictures and serval headlines about the murderer and the cop, the camera moves over the newspaper slowly zooming in across the page, this with dark lighting gives the scene a spooky effect. In this opening we see a disturbing headline about human organs being served to guests.

Se7en

The first image we see in the opening of Se7en is a close up of a book being turned over; at this point the film looks rather normal. Not long into the film we see someone cutting off dead skin from their fingers with a razor, stepping out from the norm. Around twenty-three seconds in we see a split second flash of a human with a distorted, damaged,

bruised and beaten face this split second flash shows the disturbing violence that will continue to occur in this film. Around after thirty-five seconds in we start to see more of someone writing and going through what looks like crime scene photos suggesting that this person is an investigator/ investigating the crime scene.
