Emory University offers a multitude of courses for students and is known for its medical, business, and law schools. Although these branches of our school are highly recognized it doesn’t mean that there aren’t other highly recognized and well respected classes.

Because Emory University offers a variety of courses and is one of the top schools in the United States there is high competition from all around the United States; which motivates learners and brings diversity among students.

Like many other states Georgia has cold temperatures in the winter and hot weather during the summer which students find splendid because the cold weather allows them to focus during the school year and the hot weather allows them leisure during the break.

44% of enrolled students are men and 56% of enrolled students are women.

Thirty-five percent of Emory students belong to one of our 11 national sororities or 15 national fraternities. Greek organizations here are passionate and active, but they do not dominate the social scene or the membership mindset on campus.

Out of 2,774 colleges Emory is ranked 20.

At Emory we are all about school spirit and……… Emory Pride!!!!

Students may apply Early Decision to only one school in any given application round.Q: Do you have a core curriculum?A: Emory prides itself on being a liberal arts college and encourages students to take courses in a number of different subject areas through our general education requirements (GERs). About one third of the courses that students pursue here will be used to fulfill the GERs, and we offer flexibility in choosing these courses.Q: What does the admission committee review during the application process?A: The admission committee will focus on the information that is provided in the application. International students are required to submit a financial verification form in the admission process.Q: Am I eligible for merit-based scholarships?A: Emory does offer merit-based aid through the Emory Scholars and Goizueta Scholars programs. The scholars programs are extremely competitive. We usually receive 2,500 nominations for about 150 awards. These range from $10,000/year to full cost. Students who are awarded these scholarships typically have earned excellent grades, and their standardized test scores fall in our upper twenty-fifth percentile range (above 2220 on the SAT I and above 33 on the ACT). These students also demonstrate an emphasis on involvement outside school. Students must be nominated by their high school for this award. The deadline for Emory Scholars is November 15.Q: Can I check my application status online?A: You can track the status of your application online through the OPUS system. You can set up a login and password once the Office of Admission has processed part of your application. Due to the volume of applications, it may be up to four weeks by the time an application is put on the system.Q: Can I receive credit for AP exams, IB exams, or joint enrollment classes?A: Emory College will typically award four semester hours of college credit for each score of four or five on examinations of the Advanced Placement (AP) Program of the College Entrance Examination Board. We will award four semester hours of college credit for scores of five, six or seven on the higher-level International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations in the subject areas offered in Emory College. There are a few exceptions to both the AP and IB credit policies. We will award college credit for joint enrollment courses, if the courses taken meet all of the following criteria:

Q: Is there an advantage to applying Early Decision?A: There is a statistical advantage to applying Early Decision to Emory; this advantage can be heavily attributed to the small size of the early decision applicant pool. However, the profile of students admitted through Early Decision and Regular Decision is almost identical. The main advantage of applying Early Decision is that you receive your admission decision much sooner in the process.Q: How do I schedule an interview?A: Emory does not offer on-campus interviews as part of the admission process, but we do offer interviews with Emory alumni in select cities, including Nashville, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Tampa, Boston, Baltimore, Raleigh-Durham, and Seattle. In addition, if you are interested in visiting campus, we encourage you to do so. You'll be able to participate in a campus tour and a group information session.

Emory warmly welcomes new students to its vibrant and engaging academic community.

Our formal orientation programs are designed to provide new students with a sampling of all the ways they can pursue intellectual and interpersonal goals through formal study, campus life and community service.

It's the beginning of a process of discovery that continues throughout a student's time here and, we hope, a lifetime.
