BIRTHDAYS10th: Ellerie (5)
17th: Michael (3)
28th: Eloise (3)
If I have missed anyone’s birthday please let me know as soon as possible. You can send
me an email at [email protected]
Valentines
If your child wishes to bring in valentines cards/gifts for their
friends please could you leave the “to” blank. It makes it easier for
the child to distribute if they don’t need to find each friend’s own “mail
bag”.
For children who attend on Fridays
Looking Back…. Looking Forward!
We had a great time in January learning about Europe. The children learned the names and locations of many of the countries.
This month, February our tour of the world continues with learning about Asia. We have learned so much in our trip around the world and the stamps in their passports…. Yes, we have made passports…. Continue to grow.
Parents/Teacher Conferences
I will be holding parent/teacher conferences week of February 24th – 28th. I will put out a sign-up sheet the week before, February 17th.

Clothing
Please make sure that your child always has a set of spare clothing including underwear and
socks in their cubby in the classroom. This may not be needed due to a potty accident, but we may go outside and play or they may get dirty from activities within the classroom. This way
we are always prepared.
SNACK DAYPlease make sure you check the snack calendar regularly to see if it is your turn. This can be found on the fridge in the classroom, on our website, and for most of this school year I have also been emailing it out at the same time as the newsletter. Our numbers this year remain fairly consistent so if you always cater for 20 students it typically allows us to have 1 or 2 servings spare in case a student drops it or one of the younger students “accidentally” eats two servings.
Please do your best to follow the suggested snack calendar as this, on most days, gives the children a good all rounded selection of food, and they do enjoy their fruits and vegetables.
If you forget snack, and I know it happens to all of us at least once, then if you wouldn’t mind checking with me if there is anything we could use in particular to stock our shelves that would be very helpful.
Lunch ContainersWork with your children on
how to open their lunch containers at home. The
Philosophy of Montessori is to help the child be self-
sufficient; therefore we need to set them up for success. We do help them when they show us they have tried, but some of the students have
containers, that even we find difficult to open, and things
can be made even more difficult if the child has
needed to have the lunch heated up due to the suction
created.
