The Y Ending RuleThe y ending rule is one ending rule. It has three parts.
Part 1: When a word ends in y, andthe letter before the y is a vowel, wecan just add the suffix!

Part 2: When a word ends in y, andthe letter before the y is a consonant, weneed to change the y to an i beforeadding the suffix!

Part 3: When a word ends in y, andwe’re adding a suffix that starts with an i,we do not change the y to an i beforeadding the suffix!
