THANKS!The Head Master of Thuchila Community Day Secondary School, Clive Msowoya would like to thank TIYEPAD NETWORK Team for the improvement of Girl Child Education project implemented at the school. “Many pupils especially girls at our school are vulnerable although they are having degree of class ability. But coming of TIYEPAD NETWORK with the project has come up with positive impact hence about 5 girls got school sponsorship and over 15 girls provided with school facilities which are very challenges to many girls. We are pleading to the youths to continue with the project and on behalf of the school let me also thank TIYEPAD NETWORK’S donors for the continuous support to the youth led organization and hope they will continue to support them so that they may manage to reach more remained vulnerable girls at the school” He said

GIRL CHILD EDUCATION PROGRAMMEBACKGROUND

In 2013 Thuchila Youth Empowerment Programme and Development Network (TIYEPAD NETWORK) youth led organization based in Mulanje District introduced #back to school and #keeps them in class program with an aim to identify vulnerable children especially girls who failed to prolong their secondary school due to orphan cause, poverty, teenage pregnancy/early marriages. It was noted of high rates of school dropout related to poverty, teenage pregnancies resulted into early marriages as well as alcohol and drugs and substance abuses by young people. After the survey, 20 children were identified in the community who drop out school because of poverty with %90 orphans. The organization tried their best to raise money from membership contributions and managed to sponsor 4 pupils (2 boys and 2 girls) at Thuchila Community Day Secondary School in Mulanje District.

Positive impact results

2018 has been a year of good luck hence Printernet Project tried to pay the school fees for the kids and supply school facilities till 3 of them graduated their form 4 classes. Martha was one of beneficiaries to be on the moon as she was rescued from early marriage after getting pregnancy since passing her full primary school level at Chingoli Primary. Martha, 16 year old, second from 5 children born from poor family while lost her parents and served by her grandmother, gone into early marriage leaving behind her vision of being a Nurse. Martha is now one of hard worker form 2 students at Thuchila Community Day Secondary School as the organization send back to school while fulfilling her ambition. UK based partner ( Rachel) took all responsibility to sponsor her and we are grateful and happy to see the continuous support rendered to her hence we remain to be a bridge for gap of those in need. However, there are many vulnerable children need school sponsorship; share this post to enhance quality education to those in need. Another positive impact/achievement of weekly newsletter 2019 another Sponsorship Opportunity

It is 6 years now TIYEPAD NETWORK established and implement Girl Child Education program under Back to School/Keep Girl in Class project which resulted with many positive impact including vulnerable children grant school sponsorship, provisional of school facilities and availability of several life skills as well as computer trainings. In order to analyze the situation and search for sponsorship opportunity,

TIYEPAD NETWORK uses several campaigns via local and social media advert. Although the campaigns works very well since 5 years in several ways it seems to be tough for TIYEPAD NETWORK to access resources for both material and financial sponsorships. Printernet Project is one of the supporters of the project. But the partnership of NITI-PRINTERNET PROJECT has come up with another important and successful way of looking support for the needy by using weekly newsletter in the action advert adds. To add salt on the successful tool for weekly newsletter is that one of the needy girl at Thuchila Community Day Secondary School got sponsorship from one folk who read the advert from last weekly newsletter

Situation analysis

Increased number of young girls getting into early marriages and teenage pregnancies. High rate of school drop outs in the community. Number of young women and girls un educated and un employed. Discrimination and stigmatization of rights of young women and adolescent girls. Number of cases on child labor and several abuses which mainly affect girl child. Poor community and communication and comprehensive knowledge among many girls. Low teachers creational of conducive universal learning environment. Increased number of maternal and infants mortality rates.

Program Goal: To empower adolescent girls and young women in Sexual and Reproductive Health knowledge and skills as well as improving the quality education to alleviate poverty

Program Vision: No child especially girl fails education because of poverty and hunger.

School committee meetings and trainings. Community sensitizations. Advocacy and Lobbying campaigns. Girl showers entertainment. Bursary schemes. Supply of re washable sanitary pads and provisional of school facilities. Comprehensive SRH training sessions. Eradicating gender based violence. HIV/AIDS Impact Mitigations. Leadership and capacity building trainings Peer education Computer studies (i.e Microsoft word, excel, power point, publisher and internet)
