Web developers create and maintain websites and web applications.This four-day training course will provide a significant exposure to what it takes to develop an exciting and satisfying career with Website Development. With experience, you could specialise in a particular area, like e-commerce or move up to a more senior role like lead programmer or project leader. You could also move into other IT fields, like systems analysis or IT project management

Course OutlineDay 1: Introduction to the Internet and Website Development Understanding the web (history + how it works) HTML basics (head, body, h1, p tags) Building a simple page The rest of the HTML tags Linking between pages including images as links Images / video / documents Web standards (W3C) Introduction to Technical SEO

Day 2: Introduction to website design and programming scripts Introduction to cascading stylesheets (CSS) CSS Elements and Selectors Create a stylesheet Introduction to JavaScript Create a simple JavaScript function

Day 3: Introduction to webservers and website hosting Introduction to server side coding Setting up a simple dev environment on your laptop Creating a page server side Introduction to Twitter bootstrap Website Personas Website User Journeys
