Weekly Objective(s):1. Examine the major causes of the Great Depression and its global impact on the

world.

DirectionsEach week you will be given tasks to complete throughout the week. The idea for this class is you will have three assignments all due by Friday at the end of the week. Assignments for this week are due on FRIDAY MARCH 27. Please do not hesitate to ask me questions about assignments or content. I will be available through email most of the day. I will be sure to answer all emails by the end of the day.

Information About Grading

● The Biggest thing I am looking for is did you complete the assignment to the best of your ability and did you attempt to familiarize yourself with the content.

● I cannot help anyone who does not attempt any assignment so it is very important you give me something!

● Grades will be based on a weekly grade. This week you have 50 points possible. In your infinite campus it will say Week 1 Grade: ____/50 points. If you complete all assignments and they are accurate you will receive a 50/50 100% for the week. If you complete the Great Depression Questions I and no other assignment that would be a 22/50 or a 44% for the week.

Postcard Sent After WWI:

Dear Papa,

I took the 7.40 train this morning arriving at Ypres shortly after 10. No words can describe the destruction - not a house remains standing and the few inhabitants who are there live in wooden houses. After visiting the ruins, especially the 'Alle de la Cathédral' and of the 'Halle aux draps' (I don't remember the exact name) which will be kept intact, I went to St. J. Langemarck passing through no man's land. A desert. The soil completely turned over, everywhere shell holes and unexploded shells, torn and burnt trees, wrecked tanks, scrap-iron of all kinds and for kilometres trenches after trenches turned upside down. As a matter of fact only the road can be used - cars topsy-turvy everywhere; one cannot venture into the country side without risking a fall in a hole or being caught in barbed wire. English soldiers are still stationed here, looking for those reported missing. It appears that one still finds the dead by hundreds. One can say that all along the front it is total destruction.
