June 2020 Hello, Welcome to Year 5/6! My name is Miss Kingshott and next year, like Mrs. Whitmore, will be my 13 th year teaching! look forward to meeting your smiley face and getting to know you a lot better (I know some of you know me already) Transition will be very different this year as we are unable to see you face to face, therefore, I thought I would introduce myself by sending you a letter, sharing a few fun facts, and by sending you a video. I am hoping that you will return the favour and do the same for me too so that I can display it in our classroom. To start off with, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally. I was born on the South coast of England but grew up mostly in Wales. I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University. Before working at Cranberry Academy, I worked at another academy within the trust and have taught Year One, Two and Six. I know I taught a few of you in Year 2 a few years ago, I am excited to see how much you have progressed since then. I am currently the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), Key Stage 1 lead and Mental Wellbeing Lead at Cranberry Academy. Due to these roles, I will only be teaching you on a Monday. Mrs. Whitmore will be teaching you on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. She loves Harry Potter and is fun and exciting so I know the rest of your week will be fantastic too! Cranberry Academy is one big family and I am so glad that we are all a part of it. Cranberry Academy, Cranberry Lane, Alsager Cheshire ST7 2LE Tel: 01270 685310 e-mail : [email protected]

My Favourites:

Food: Roast Dinner Film: Toy Story (I blame this on Arthur, as he makes me watch it ALL the time ha ha) Colour: Blue Drink: Tea and Coffee (I can’t decide) Season: Summer Animal: Peacock (just like mine at home)

Before school closes for the summer, myself or Mrs. Whitmore will be calling you to say hello. If you have any questions or worries that you want us to help with, then we could discuss those over the phone. I understand that having lots of time away from school, meeting a new teacher and having a new classroom could be an anxious time so please don’t worry about this.

I have attached a task for you to complete. It is a mini fact file all about yourself including any hobbies you may have, what superhero you think you would be and of course, your favourite book. Can you guess what my favourite book is? Once you have completed it, please email it to [email protected] and I can print it off and make a class display in your new classroom. Please make it your best piece of work ever – colourful and beautifully presented. I can’t wait to learn all about you!

Take care and stay safe

Hello,

Welcome to Year 5/6! My name is Mrs Whitmore and next year will be my 13th year teaching – a long time I know I am really excited to begin the year as I have many fun things planned.

Transition will be very different this year as we are unable to see you face to face, therefore, I thought I would introduce myself by sending you a letter, sharing a few fun facts, and by sending you a video. I am hoping that you will return the favour and do the same for me too so that I can display it in our classroom.

To start off with, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself both personally and professionally. I am born and bred in Alsager, went to Alsager High School and graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University. Before working at Cranberry Academy, I worked at another academy within the trust and have taught Year Three, Four, Five and Six. I am currently the Behaviour Lead and Curriculum Lead and I can’t wait to share all of the exciting topics we will be learning about. Don’t tell anyone – but I think our topics are the best! Whilst at home, I am kept very busy with my two daughters, Florence aged 6, who also attends Cranberry Academy, and Arabella aged 2. On a Monday, I will be at home spending time with my youngest daughter, and so Mrs Kingshott will be teaching you on this day. She is also very excited to meet you all!

My Favourites:

Food: Chinese Film: Harry Potter Colour: Purple Drink: Tea Season: Spring (I love seeing the daffodils growing) Animal: Elephant (I saw these wild in Sri Lanka)

Before school closes for the summer, I will be calling you to say hello. If you have any questions or worries that you want me to help with, then we could discuss those over the phone. I understand that having lots of time away from school, meeting a new teacher and having a new classroom could be an anxious time so please don’t worry about this.

Please make it your best piece of work ever – colourful and beautifully presented. I can’t wait to learn all about you!

Take care and stay safe
