CHILDLINE Activity for the month of June and July 2019
1. World Day against Child Labour programme
District Labour Department and CHILDLINE – Kanyakumari (Holy Cross College(Autonomous) and
Kottar Social Service Society) jointly organized Rally to observe World Day against Child Labour at
3.30 pm from Anna Stadium to the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Labour near Water Tank on
12.06.2019. Ms. Suganya, Collector PA (Development Session) inaugurated the Rally from the Anna
Stadium with warm greetings to all children on the eve of “World Day against Child Labour”. 227
school students and 12 teachers, Folk Cultural Group Members, Labour Department staff, CHILDLINE
team participated
2. Orientation programme
CHILDLINE-Kanniyakumari, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) and Kottar Social Service Society
jointly organized orientation programme on
CHILDLINE 1098 and child related issues
on 12.06.2019 at Muttom and on 09.07.2019
at Enayam. 31 Religious Leaders (Parish
Priest) from Muttom & Aalanju region,
Collab Director and Nodal Coordinator were
the participants of the programme.
3. Training programme
CHILDLINE Kanniyakumari, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) (Nodal Organization) & Kottar Social
Service (Collab Organization) jointly organized a training programme on Child Protection for volunteers
on 14.06.2019 at Kottar Social Service Society, Bishop House from 10.30 am to 4 pm. 27 volunteers in
Kanyakumari District, 2 Coordinators and 6 staff members from CHILDLINE – Kanniyakumari
participated in the programme.
4. Sensitization programme
CHILDLINE-Kanniyakumari, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) organized sensitization programme
jointly with Anti Human Trafficking Unit Police Officers for College students on 03.07.2019 in Infant
Jesus College at Mulagumoodu, 10.07.2019 in the Arunachala College at near Friday Market on
CHILDLINE 1098, Child related issues, Child Sexual Abuse and POCSO Act 2012. Totally 1008
college students, College staff members, Anti Human Trafficking Unit Police Officers and CHILDLINE
Nodal Coordinator, participated in the programme.
5. Training programme
CHILDLINE Kanniyakumari, Holy Cross College (Autonomous) (Nodal Organization) organized a
training programme on Child Protection for
Mukkeya Sevakker (Extension Officers) and Grama
Sevakker (Rural Welfare Officers) from District
Social Welfare Board on 17.06.2019 at Louis Braille
Hall, Collectorate. Mr. K. R. VijayaBhaskaran, BSc,
The Additional Superintendent of Police, Ms.
Kumutha, M.A., B.Ed., MLISC., M. Phil., District
Child Protection Officer, Mrs. J. Rexlin Jancy, The
Chair Person, Child Welfare Committee, Mr. Clement, Member of Child Welfare Committee, Mr.
Pushparaja, Probation Officer, Mrs. Saraishwadi, District Social Welfare Board were the chief guest of
the programme and Mr. Maria Stephan, Advocate was the resource person for the programme.
6. Volunteers Meeting
CHILDLINE – Kanyakumari, Holy Cross College (Autonomous)
organized volunteers meeting on CHILDLINE 1098 and child related
issues on 20.07.2019 in the Multipurpose Hall at Holy Cross College
for I year PG Students in the college. 90 volunteers participated in the
volunteer’s meeting.
