Your task this week is to write a 100- word mini winter story! The only rules you have are: 1. It must include something about winter! Snow, ice-skating, Christmas, penguins, holly, robins etc. 2. It has to be no more than 100 words 3. It must be a proper story with a beginning, middle and an end 4. Be original! You could be inspired by other famous stories. You could do a funny version of a fairy tale but it must be written in your own words! Here are some ideas to get your started: Imagine you are a snowflake and tell the story of your journey as you float down to Earth. Imagine you are one of Santa’s elves and tell a story about that. Imagine you visit the North Pole, what happens when you get there? If you have a different Winter idea you can also write about that! Example story ‘Shiver Me Timbers’ Whitebeard the snowman sailed the icy puddles, searching for his stolen treasure. He steered his ship, the Old Red Sledge, through back streets and down sloping garden paths. His eye patch fluttered in the chilly winter air, Whitebeard frantically followed the fading trail in the snow, tracking the thief’s once crisp boot prints. ‘Avast, me hearties!’ he exclaimed as his eye fell upon the blue and white striped scarf of his enemy. It lay discarded in the snow. He anchored his sledge, lifted the scarf and found it – his stolen treasure. A lump of jet-black coal. His prized left eye.
