6 Child Protection Update

There has not been a CPC meeting since the last Network meeting and therefore no update. Following up on discussion from last meeting about training, Sharon Guest agreed to explore with CEC about third sector organisations accessing learnpro. Michelle to follow this up with Sharon to see if any response from CEC. Question raised by Andy Thomas about workers being asked to attend professionals meetings in relation to young people which did not include the young person or family and whether other organisations have had this experience recently. No one else was aware of this happening. Agreed to keep monitoring this and raise with C&F if further examples. Some organisations have also had occasions where they have ended up arranging child planning meetings as schools have stated that they don’t have time to do this. Agreed that Michelle will raise with Gordon Mclean when she meets him on 17 Nov.
