Situational AnalysisManly Cans currently is a successful startup business. To its loyal customers they are the most

creative, innovative and thoughtful gifts to give the special guys in their lives. This presents a

great opportunity for the company to expand on the already great customer loyalty and brand

exposure they have created. By focusing campaigns and cans to specific holidays they can better

serve customer needs with more specific cans, as well as promote well designed campaigns to

spread the word not only about the specialty cans, but the Manly Cans brand in general.

Statement of PurposeThis proposal serves as an outline for Manly Cans to have tailored campaigns for both wedding

and anniversaries as well as corresponding cans.

GoalOur goal for Manly Cans is to raise awareness about the option of a wedding and anniversary can, as well as increase social media outreach and can sales during popular wedding months.

Objectives, Strategies and TacticsObjective 1

To increase overall awareness of Manly Cans.

Strategies

● Coordinate with local media to promote or advertise Manly Cans.

● Increase involvement with local events.

● Post frequently to Facebook.

Tactics

● Send out frequent news releases and encourage local media to visit the

storefront as well as provide them with a free Manly Can.

● Sponsor a local charitable event by provided sample Manly Cans or

memorabilia such as shirts, coasters and koozies.

● Pay for boosted Facebook posts so that even users who do not “like” the

Manly Cans Facebook page will see posts on their newsfeed.

Objective 2

Create wedding and anniversary themed Manly Cans.

Strategies

● Build cans that would be fitting for a wedding and or anniversary

● Wedding cans should be tailored towards the groom/groomsmen

● Anniversary would be something special for the Manly Can man in their lives

● Personalize the exterior of the cans for both weddings and anniversaries

Tactics

● Look into hiring a part time artist or graphic designer to create

personalized exteriors for the cans.

○ Having the wedding party name and date on cans for a groom or

groomsmen or maybe just their names in a unique script.

○ The anniversary cans could feature the date of the anniversary and

or just the name of the spouse in unique script.

● Research into purchasing items that would be fitting for a man for a

romantic anniversary. We know romance and touchy feely gifts are not

exactly a man’s bread and butter, so we are thinking higher priced items

such as tools, knives or other gadgets.

● Research into purchasing items that would be fitting for a groomsmen can.

This could be anything from cheeky t-shirts to flasks, i.e., anything funny

or lighthearted.

○ Possible T-Shirt idea includes a shirt reading “Nice Cans” on the

front with the Manly Cans logo on the back.

Evaluation/

MeasurementCampaigns

● We will evaluate and measure the campaigns through the monitoring of social

media interaction of the wedding/anniversary posts.

● We will also measure the success of the web traffic during the time of the

campaigns as well as time spent looking at specific cans.

Cans

● We will evaluate the success of the wedding and anniversary cans by reviewing

the number sold as well as customer reviews/complaints if any.

Campaign Theme & Key MessagesThe theme for this campaign will be to grab the attention of groomsmen and spouses through

unique and attention grabbing promotional material. More specifically, each can, both for

weddings and for anniversaries, will include items that gentlemen find useful and enjoyable. To

market this more toward groomsmen and spouses and what makes this campaign different from

the original Manly Cans is that there will be options for personalization as well as specialized

memorabilia, such as t-shirts, that will be unique to these cans.

Our key messages will include specialized pricing for buying bulk orders of cans which will be

popular when bridal parties who are looking to purchase multiple cans as gifts for a loved one.

Other key messages will include that each Manly Can can be personalized with each individual

in mind as well as delivered to your front door through great customer service that ensures the

stress of your wedding day, or the difficult gift decision for an anniversary is made easy.

QualificationsDanielle Leonarduzzi

Danielle Leonarduzzi is a senior at Missouri State University where she is pursuing a Bachelor’s

Degree in Public Relations with a minor in Business. Danielle’s involvement on campus includes

being on several committees and a previous executive member of her sorority. Danielle is also

the Social Media Director for the Odyssey at Missouri State University where she is in charge of

the Odyssey’s social media accounts as well producing at least one written article a week for

publication. Danielle currently interns with 417 Magazine in the Marketing department where

she helps with event coordination, sweepstakes marketing and writing digital copy.

Taeler Marshall

Taeler Marshall is a senior at Missouri State University. She is also pursuing a Bachelor’s

Degree in Public Relations with a minor in Journalism. Taeler is currently interning with the

Athletics Communications Department of Missouri State University where she coordinates the

media coverage of the athletic teams with the local media. Taeler also works as a Marketing

Associate for Aspen Springfield. Here, Taeler formats marketing campaigns to promote brand

awareness and loyalty, as well as helping to manage the social media accounts.

Terms of AgreementThis contract is by and between the undersigned parties Manly Cans and the Missouri State

University communications consultant team comprised of Danielle Leonarduzzi and Taeler

Marshall. The consulting team agrees that all texts and materials shall be kept strictly

confidential and shall not be used in any form by any team member other than for the purposes

outlined in this agreement until the completion of the project and for the purpose of creating a

campaign for Manly Cans to use. The team also agrees to provide Manly Cans with copies of all

materials prepared throughout the course of the project, which are outlined in the preceding

proposal.
