NRHH 9:34 PMWe’re having a program tomorrow at 8:30pm in the Shango kitchen. We’re deco-rating cupcakes to celebrate the 30th birthday of NRHH on our campus!

SENATE 9:34 PMVoting for Senate will be happening April 26th-28th on my.newpaltz.edu. We’ll be electing e-board seats and senate seats, and we’ll be voting on the referendum for the budget. It’s the student activity fee, so you should vote yes because that’s what everything is funded by. The amount we’re paying won’t go up. We’re also elect-ing the NYPIRG board of trustees.

Council chair nominations will be opened at the next council meeting.

GO VOTE TOMORROW IN THE SUB MPR!

They went to SUNY assembly very recently, which is basically the Senate of Sen-ate. They passed their ban the box legislation! It’ll go to the board of trustees, and then it’ll go to Cuomo.

OLD BUSINESS 9:35 PMMotion to Open: RidgeviewSecond: Bouton

NCCAs Mike mentioned at previous meetings, they’ve been having a marathon of NCC chats to elect the rest of the RBD, and they finally filled all 3 positions! The coordi-nating officer of programming and resources will be Ella Azoulay from NYU, the coordinating office of marketing and public relations will be Megan Brown from Pace Pleasantville, and the coordinating officer of subregional relations will be Tristan Arnau from StonyBrook! We have a full board before NACURH which has never happened before, so that’s awesome.

Thank you to everyone who applied to NACURH! All the interviews were great. The NCC’s will be notifying people later this week if you’ve been selected. Mooselove.

CCCThe end of the semester is getting near, which means GFP’s are due! All PUP sheets will be due NEXT MONDAY! Even if you had a program 2 months ago and didn’t hand in a PUP sheet, you can hand one in now and get half the GFP’s.

NEW BUSINESS: 9:37 PMMotion to Open: LenapeSecond: DuBois

BUZZ KaraokeIt’s our LAST BUZZ of the semester! It’s this Friday the 22nd in SUB 100s from 7:30-9:30. It’s Recyclemania themed, it’ll be great. See you all there!

RetreatRetreat is THIS WEEKEND! If you have any questions talk to Sammi after the meeting or during the break.

BanquetIt’s May 2nd! We’re getting catering from Rocco’s and Asian Fusion, so you can look forward to that. There’s an RSVP sheet in your folder, bring it back next week so we can get enough food for everyone. Dress nicely!

ElectionsAs elections have been happening, they’ve been getting shorter and shorter, and the questions have been getting very generic. Since there are 2 candidates run-ning unopposed, unlike many elections this year, here are a few points to keep in mind:- Give candidates your full, undivided attention.- Ask questions that are not already on the application; if it’s on the application,

Ariana will not let the candidate answer the question. It’s your job as AC reps to read the applications.

- Do not speculate. If someone gets up here and says “I’m doing this, this, this, and this next year,”, you can’t say “Oh they’re busy”. Unless they say the word “busy”, you can’t say that. No speculation is allowed.- Mike: If they have an application that’s 7 pages long, saying they’re busy could

work out. We’ve let “busy” slide in other elections, so I think that would be fine to say. However, you can’t be like “Oh they said this thing which means they would be a great Historian”. You have a powerful vote, and you’re about to vote someone who’s going to be on one of the most powerful e-boards on this campus for next year, and that’s a big deal. Make an informed decision, ask important questions that are substantial, and make good discussion points.

- If Ariana doesn’t think that you have discussed enough or asked enough ques-tions and someone moves to end question and answer, Ariana won’t hear that motion. Ask good questions, and give them your full attention.

- All electronics away!

Expectations:The historian is the webmaster for RHSA, which means the website is kept updated by them. They’re in charge of social media challenges which are done throughout the week, and people win GFP’s for them. They also chronicle the history of RHSA, mostly by taking pictures and uploading them to Facebook. They’re also in charge of the yearbook committee, and they have the general duties of an e-board mem-ber.

Presentation #1:Hi guys! My name is Andrea Paredes, I am a first year student here at SUNY New Paltz. I am Vice President of Esopus Hall Gov, as well as the liaison between Sen-ate and RHSA, which is why you get to hear my voice and see my face every Mon-day. I’m running for historian right now, and I wanna begin with why I love RHSA. RHSA has created community for me that has allowed me to flourish and meet wonderful people in Esopus Hall. It’s created bonds that I’m not too sure would’ve been made if it weren’t for this organization. They have a community that fosters a sense of inclusion, and I would like to consider myself a very inclusive person. I know what it’s like to feel excluded, and so does probably everyone else in this room. RHSA actively tries to push exclusivity out, and that’s what I would like to do. On top of that, the e-board is absolutely amazing, they’re great role models, and they have a really deep connection that I’d like to continue, especially with the e-board that has been elected now. They’re all people I look up to and really enjoy being around and would love to get to know better. The jobs of the historian in-clude the general duties of an e-board member, which include sitting 2 office hours, meeting with their e-board, biweekly meetings with an advisor, as well as

helping plan events and attending them, and going to AC meetings and retreats. As far as the historian is concerned, they are the webmaster for the website, so they keep everything up to date. They also chronicle the events that happen for RHSA, which is BUZZ Karaoke’s and all that fun stuff. They post the pictures on Facebook and tag individuals. They also end up becoming the chair of the year-book committee. They oversee that and are in charge of printing out the yearbook to get to you guys. Lastly, they are the person who handles the social media chal-lenges: InstaMonday, Twitter Tuesday, Facebook Friday, and Snapchat Saturday. I have some ideas in regards to that, so if you want to ask about that during ques-tion and answer, I will be glad to answer. Overall, this is really an organization that I’ve felt attached to, and it’s something that’s helped me grow and I’m sure it’s done the same for a lot of you. I have wonderful, great ideas that I would love to show to you guys, so thank you! I yield my time to questions.

Q&A:Why historian, why now?- Honestly, I wasn’t thinking about running for e-board just because I felt like I

was overloaded with my work because I was going to be taking 18 credits. How-ever, the way my financial aid worked out for next semester, that is not the case. I’ll be taking 12 credits, which will really allow me to immerse myself into what I love doing. If I have the time to, why now? And for historian: I was honestly choosing between PR and historian, because I have a concentration in public re-lations. However, I asked my Hall Gov, and I was like, “Choose between these two, and whichever one you see me fit, I’ll run for”, and they picked historian. I felt like that was a really good fit for me, just because I’m outgoing and I have fun. I really like to create an environment where everyone feels included, and I feel like historian offers that. You’re taking pictures of the events, and you want to have everybody accounted for in those pictures.

E-board is a big commitment, are you prepared to put RHSA before everything, in-cluding Senate?- Most definitely. Honestly, RHSA is more of the fun side of politics in regards to

SUNY New Paltz. I do love Senate, and it’s definitely helped me grow in differ-ent ways, but they’re two very different organizations that have two separate roles on campus. I don’t see them ever really crossing that much, which is why I chose to do RHSA, because I’d love to be the person who bridges that gap. We have very large platforms that reach a l0t of different people. If we were to end up collaborating on more than just BBQ, it would create amazing things. I’d defi-nitely be willing to put in time and effort into something that I love.

You mentioned ideas for social media challenges. Can you elaborate on that?- Honestly…I’m really bad at the social media challenges. I try to follow them, but

I never get the notification for it. I know that I actively try to look for it on Mon-days, specifically InstaMondays. I would like to create more of a sense of com-petitiveness to bring to the table. I feel like it’s not as competitive as I want it to be; it’s more of a fun thing to do. Why not bring the winners into RHSA and let them know who the winners are so you have more of a pump to look for Insta-Mondays, Twitter Tuesdays etc. Everyone wants the GFP’s, so why not make it a little more competitive.

How long after an event do you believe you should post pictures taken at said event?- Hopefully I can do it right after. I’d love to be as quick and efficient as I could

be, but sometimes things happen and I wouldn’t be able to get them posted right away. Definitely as soon as possible.

What would you do if your camera broke before an event?- Use my phone; if not I have really artsy friends, so I would ask them if I could

borrow their camera. If not, phones will suffice.

Are you on yearbook committee?- Yes! I did the yearbook page for Esopus Hall, and I think it’s very pretty.

Who did you talk to about this position and what advice did they give you?- Tim Natsch, Alejandro, as well as just for a general view of the e -board I talked

to Sammi to see if I would fit in a position such as this. Tim gave me the advice to be ok with getting in people’s faces who you don’t know. It’s not something that you really think about, like you know you have to take pictures of people but you never think about the fact that you don’t know them. I’m glad the he brought insight on that. As far as Sammi’s advice, she said that it’s definitely a time commitment, but I’m going to reap a lot of benefits out of this. I’m glad that I can be in such a good environment.

You said that you wanted to continue a deep connection within the e-board; how would you do that?- The people who have already been elected have been people who I’ve looked up

to. I’m gonna name-drop Breanne right now. I see her, she’s on top of her Robert’s Rules and all that in regards to the actual system of how RHSA works. I’m still working on my Robert’s Rules a little bit, but it’s definitely something I’m up to, and these are people who I strive to be like. Rui is so sociable, he’s liter-ally in every Hallywood video that we’ve been watching. Everybody has some-thing that they contribute to the table that I would like to end up gaining. If I value these individuals who are on my e-board, I feel like we can create a re-spectability that makes us feel included in this community.

You say you wanted to bridge the gap between Senate and RHSA, do you see a flaw currently that you would like to change?- We only have the RHSA end of year BBQ where we kinda just table there. I

would like to see something more in the first semester where it’s a de-stress kinda thing around finals. We both have allocated money we can work with, why not work together? We can do something for the students, by the students. I feel like a de-stress night is a very simple thing to do, and it’ll definitely bring a lot of people.

You said you asked your Hall Gov for advice, I’m sure they know you better than any of us would. What did they say when you asked them?

- I told them I wasn’t too sure about PR. At first they were all like, yea do PR! You’re a communications major with a concentration in PR! Why wouldn’t you do PR? I told them that my reservations of being PR were that I wasn’t sure if I could do as great a job as past PR’s have done, because these posters are looking great. I don’t know if I’d be able to step up to the plate. They were saying I have skills that are transferrable into PR. They saw me best fit for that and they calmed down my reservations about PR.

What’s the biggest problem with this e-board and how would you fix it?- I’ve actually been thinking about that every single time this question has been

asked, and I honestly can’t think of anything, as cheesy as it sounds. I feel that every single person on this e-board is dedicated and determined, and they’re a group of people who work as a group of people, not just individuals who have a set job; they work as a team. That’s very admirable.

You said that one of your weaknesses is that you overextend yourself. What do you plan to do to fix that?- This past year I learned that you can’t half-butt anything. You really put in what

you give out, especially at a collegiate level. I’ve also become more organized this year. I have a planner that I keep on my wall with important dates, I have a planner with a more day to day schedule.

What is a way that you’ll work with the other e-board members as historian?- I feel like historian works with the PR a lot because we both work a lot with so-

cial media. I’d probably be working very closely with my PR and seeing how we can build a presence on social media.

How busy are you next semester with academics and extracurriculars?- As I mentioned prior, I will only be taking 12 credits due to my financial aid

thing. I’m also going to be an RA in Bliss and I just found out today that I got OL, so I’m very excited for that. I also want to continue with Senate. I do be-lieve that if you have a passion for something, you’re going to make time for it, and I definitely stand with that.

Presentation #2

Hello everybody, my name is Troy Moody. I am a first year here at New Paltz, and I’m an AC rep for Scudder Hall, so you’ve probably seen me around at the meet-ings. I’m running to be your historian on the e-board. The general duties include going to the AC meetings every week, going to e-board meetings every week, I could go to the President’s Cabinet meetings if I wanted to, and I also have 2 office hours every week. I would also help plan and run all RHSA events, which leads into the historian duties, which is taking pictures. I am a first year, so I’m gonna delve into high school for a little bit because I’m allowed to. I would be best for your historian because as a part of upper-level photography classes, I was assigned taking pictures at sports events, including football, soccer, lacrosse, and also the pep rally’s and club events. I have direct experience with taking photos at events and capturing them. In high school, I would also compile all the pictures in a year-book for other people to enjoy, so I’m used to taking your bright and shiny faces and putting them in a yearbook. I’ve also been on Facebook for…longer than I’d like to admit, so I know how it works and how to post pictures and tag people and all that fun stuff. My schedule for next semester is pretty open, I’m only taking 16 credits in the fall, 15 in the spring. Other than this organization, I work at the bookstore one day a week during the bulk of the semester. For the 2 weeks in the beginning of the semester and the end of the semester I work more hours since it gets busier in there. Because I know this question is coming, I figure I’d just come right out and answer it: why historian, why now? Why historian: I already have ex-perience with photography, it was a hobby of mine I had when I was home. I used my mother’s DSLR, here at college, my mom’s not here so I do not have her DSLR. You can still take good pictures on an iPhone, but it’s not the same. I wanna get back into taking pictures and having fun with that. Why now: I’m a first year, this is the first opportunity I have, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to dive right in and have a good time with all of you. I yield to questions.

Q&A:

Who have you spoken to about this position?- I have spoken to the past 3 historians, Alejandro, Tim, and Nick Barrett. I talked

to Alejandro more about the technical stuff, because that’s what he’s doing now. He showed me the Shutterfly account he was using to make the yearbook, be-cause I’d be the chair of the yearbook committee if elected. He was also upload-ing pictures from Color Wars, so I saw him do that. I talked to Nick Barrett about the personal balance between schoolwork and the responsibilities here.

What sorts of unique implementations do you intend to enact as historian?- As historian, obviously I wanna take nice candids of all y’all, maybe some selfies.

Pictures are pictures, but I also wanna put my own flare on it; it’s kind of hard to explain. One thing I wanna change about the e-board as a whole, I love BUZZ Karaoke, but the fact that it’s first come first serve is kind of…savage. The way that I see it is that if someone was inside watching us run in there pushing each other out of the way and sign in, flip through the book, sign up for a song, push more people out of the way to sing first; I don’t like that. I don’t think that’s what RHSA stands for. I would make it a random raffle; I would put all the songs peo-ple signed up for in a bucket or something, I think that’s much more civil than the way it’s been happening. I know we’re all nice people, but in that moment

you get that fire in your eye to go first, I mean I’ve done it too. It’s funny, but I just don’t think that’s what we stand for.

How long after an event do you believe you should post pictures taken at said event?- I think no later than about 48 hours. I’d try to get it up nice and quick because I

know all of y’all wanna see the pictures you took. I’d get them up nice and crisp and quickly.

What qualities do you have to be a historian as well as a member of this e-board?- Going through Hall Government for the past year, I’ve learned a lot. I am new to

the college scene, but I’m quickly learning. In high school I held positions, but I don’t wanna go back to high school too much. I know how to work with people, I’ve been working with my e-board in Scudder Hall all year. I work well with people, I’m a friendly guy. In a group, I’m usually the one who talks to the per-son who’s being quiet and asks for their opinion. Again, as historian, I’ve done this already. I’m used to taking pictures at events like this and posting them for everyone to see, and making it all nice and pretty.

Do you have any new ideas for the social media challenges?- Not at the moment, not really. Maybe like, a nature thing? Like on Snapchat

post a picture of yourself out in nature enjoying yourself.

Do you have any specific ideas for the historian role?- I don’t wanna say that there’s not a lot for the historian, the job is pretty clear. I

take pictures. I find it hard to explain…let’s put it this way: photography is my artistic ability, I don’t draw or paint well at all. It’s my way to express myself, so I want to take my experience and put it into the job. I just wanna put my own flare into it and show it from my own perspective. Make it artsy.

How comfortable are you with approaching people to take pictures?- Pretty comfortable. You’re all very nice people. When you come up to somebody

and say “let’s take a selfie”, most of the time they laugh awkwardly and they do it. I wanna take candids too, we’re all in Hall Government, we should all feel proud to be there. We should all wanna be on the page, but if you don’t, that’s fine too. We’re all having a good time and having fun.

What is a way you’ll work with the other e-board positions as historian?- Um…take pictures of them? No, just kidding. Historian has a lighter load than

the other e-board positions, so I wanna maybe take on their load and help them out if someone’s having a busy week. If they’re overwhelmed, I can jump in and help them out. I can do more than just take pictures.

Are you currently in the yearbook club?- No, I’m not. Like I said, I’m a first year, I don’t know everything that we have

here. I’ve heard of volleyball and biology club, but I did not know we have a yearbook club.

Academically and extracurricular-wise, how busy are you next year?

- Ariana: That’s on the application. If you have any other commitments you didn’t put in your application that you want to elaborate on, you can.

- Troy: I don’t know, I like to exercise. I’m taking 16 credits, I work at the book-store. That’s all I got.

How do you feel your personal studying, major or minor, can be applied to the his-torian position?- I’m a biochemistry major, science and art don’t always mix. I don’t know, take

pictures of people with animals? I don’t know, biochem is my major but I wanna be pre-med. I don’t really know how I could mix that, but I’ll find a way.

You mentioned that you’re comfortable with Facebook, are you comfortable with other social media?- Yes, again, more than I should. I’m on Instagram, I’m on Snapchat, Facebook,

Twitter, it’s all a good time. I check them more than I should. Sometimes I don’t want to, but I do anyway…but yes, I’m very comfortable with other forms of so-cial media.

Besides the BUZZ Karaoke critique, do you have any further criticism for the cur-rent e-board?- Talking to Alejandro, we were looking at the constitution, and there’s a few du-

ties of the historian that are a little unclear. It’s on my application, I don’t re-member off the top of my head, but one of the articles says something like “make evaluations of e-board members”. What exactly does that mean? I asked Alejan-dro and he said we don’t really do that anymore. I would figure out what that is and either implement it or get rid of it

RHSA is also busy the first 2 weeks and the last 2 weeks of the semester. How will you balance that with the bookstore?- Who needs sleep? Just kidding, when I say I take extra hours at the bookstore, I

mean I’m working maybe 2 or 3 days a week as opposed to 1 day a week. During the bulk of the semester, I’m only working 5 hours a week, but the first 2 weeks and last 2 weeks I’m working about 15 hours a week. It’s barely a part time job. Even then, I can balance it. I have very good time management skills. If you look at my phone or my calendar, I have all my classes, meetings and work. Then I have my planner for day to day, hour to hour kind of things.

What would you do if your camera broke before an event?- If it breaks, you go on Google and excessively look for what the problem is and

how to fit it. If that doesn’t work, we have these lovely cameras in our pockets that we can use. iPhones aren’t the same as DSLR, but it’s still pretty good.

Other than a possible position on the e-board, what would be the hardest thing you’d be doing next year?- The hardest thing I’m doing next semester is taking organic chemistry, so that

will be fun. Over the summer I’m getting this crash course in organic chemistry, so I’m not gonna learn it before I go, but I’m gonna try to learn it before I go.

Discussion:

- Troy didn’t know what the yearbook committee was, and when we asked if he had plans for the role, he was like “oh, I don’t really know”. Bouton does not find those answers not satisfactory.

- Andrea is planning on being a Senate member, OL, and RA. All 3 are extremely time consuming and difficult to balance all at once, especially since she already knows that she overextends herself.

- Collango feels like it’s hard to tell based on that, because everybody’s different and balances everything differently. Troy was equally busy with work and his relatively difficult major.

- To follow up on a similar idea, I think it’s unfair to prevent her from pursuing something that she’s passionate about. She also mentioned that she’s only tak-ing 12 credits, and she seems to have a properly organized planner.

- Andrea may have the ability to make connections with multiple organizations to show the student body how active RHSA is on campus.

- Bevier believes that, even though “knowledgeable” isn’t on her Pros list, Andrea is very knowledgeable about how Senate works and how RHSA works. She also has experience communicating with the Senate and RHSA, we see her here ev-ery Monday. Although that she may be busy, it’s not too much of a task for her.

- Troy said the he had prior photography experience, so that may be helpful in the role, and I don’t think Andrea said that.

- Deyo Hall feels that Andrea had a very thorough understanding of the position and answered the questions very effectively. It’s also interrelated with her stud-ies of Public Relations, whereas I feel that biochemistry doesn’t have that. While it doesn’t really matter that much, I think it would help.

- In reference to a previous comment, I feel that biochem doesn’t relate to any of these positions, and it doesn’t have to. You could just be branching yourself out to something that’s new and interesting to you.

- In reference to a previous comment, Troy mentioned he was passionate regard-less of his major, and he would put his interest in his position even though his major doesn’t relate to it.

- In reference to a previous comment, even though his major doesn’t apply, he does have history and experience like we said, so I think it evens out.

- In reference to a previous comment, although he did say he was passionate about the position, Bevier just doesn’t believe that that passion showed through in the sense that there were no firm ideas, and they were just over generaliza-tions as to what should happen, unlike Andrea, who did give thorough ideas on how to change the position of historian.

- Yield to redundancy.- In reference to previous comments, Troy mentioned that he had experience in

high school about being on yearbook, but also Andrea’s on the yearbook commit-tee now, so she has more knowledge of the software and things specific to year-book committee.

- Troy didn’t really talk about why he liked RHSA, and he used a lot of “I” state-ments, whereas Andrea did fully discuss why she loves RHSA and really said “we”.

- Troy was very general about the duties of historian, whereas Andrea was very specific and knew exactly what the duties were.

- Andrea has new program ideas and ways to strengthen RHSA. That’s in refer-ence to Troy having no ideas.

- Bevier believes that the world of Senate and the world of RHSA are two different worlds that sometimes interact, and Andrea would be the avatar to bring those worlds together.

- In reference to previous comments, the historian position is not to bring those two worlds together, it’s just something she has going for her. But it’s not the job.

- In reference to a previous comment, personal feelings do not always relate to performance.

- In reference to a previous comment, I believe that holding the position of senator prepares you for the office hours and other commitments that come with a posi-tion like RHSA executive board member.

- Troy has the whole summer to think of potential ideas and have potential growth if he doesn’t know now.

- In reference to a previous comment, Andrea also has the summer to think of ideas.

- In reference to a previous comment, I feel that you should’ve come to this inter-view knowing those particular answers.

- Although Andrea is involved in a lot, she mentioned she’d put RHSA before any-thing else.

- They both understand their time commitments and they know what they’re going for.

- The role of RHSA as a whole is to represent the student body when it comes to the residence halls, and so an implicit duty of RHSA is to communicate with oth-

ers and to know what the student body wants in general. The fact that Andrea is going to be an RA and an OL really helps solidify her position if she were to be historian, because she would have more opportunities to talk to incoming stu-dents and her residents to better improve the role of historian.

- On the other hand, it should be mentioned that Troy would be able to do the same thing through other commitments and positions that he might hold in the future. Just because Troy doesn’t have Senate or RA doesn’t mean that he can’t extend his passion and knowledge.

- Troy also mentioned that he didn’t really know what there was to get involved in this year, and now he knows a little more about what’s on campus and wants to put himself out there.

- In reference to a previous comment, although experience is important, you can’t gain experience without having the opportunity to learn. That goes for both can-didates.

- In reference to a previous comment, he is a freshmen so he can’t have an incredi-ble amount of experience, but he did say that he’s ready to dive in and he seems very capable of taking pictures, which is the job of the historian. He seems like he’s very passionate about having a position, and he can get that experience.

- In reference to a previous comment, Andrea is also a freshmen.- Partially in reference to a previous comment, I understand that they’re both

freshmen and that Troy has less experience than Andrea, but in his broad lack of specific answers, Bouton believes that he may need to study up more on the role.

- In reference to previous comments, Crispell believes that Troy has similar yet different experiences than Andrea. Like, they both have “yearbook” experience, just in different capacities. You can’t really say that one has the better experi-ence, they’re just different.

- In reference to a previous comment, I believe that Andrea’s experience is more relevant in the realm of SUNY New Paltz.

- In reference to a previous comment, they both seem capable enough; however, Andrea answered all the questions and she thought very much ahead, and Troy said that he wasn’t sure about a lot of questions.

- I forget who said it, but one of them said during their speech that through talk-ing to past historians, getting up in people’s faces is something that needs to be done, and one of the Pros we put for Troy was personable. That would help with getting in people’s faces.

- In reference to a previous comment, Andrea particularly said she would get up in people’s faces and take pictures.

UPCOMING EVENTS 10:53 PMBUZZ is Friday! It’s our last one! Come sing with us!

Retreat is THIS WEEKEND! We’re meeting outside the atrium at 9am!

HALL CONCERNS 10:53 PMCrispell: Our elevator’s still broken.- Alana: About the elevator: they’re taking so long because the warranty is up, so

they have to write a new one and the company has to look it over, and if they don’t approve it they have to find somewhere else to go to.

Bouton: I just wanna say a thank you to ResLife; I had a hall concern and went to an RA and RD and they fixed it. Thanks for being on top of your stuff.

STUDENT CONCERNS 10:54 PMBouton: The new library is great. But in the bathroom behind Peet’s, the toilet pa-per dispenser is super low and I always feel like I’m gonna say hi to my neighbor whenever I reach for the toilet paper.Scudder: I went to Starbucks in the SUB on Friday around 3:15ish, and only one person was working there. It took a while, but that’s not the problem; she was do-ing a great job. I just felt bad for her. There were 10 people in line and it didn’t seem fair, I think she’s a student worker.Bouton: You know the “Shame on you Sodexo” stickers? They’re here because they’re denying workers a pay raise.- Ariana: I’m on the food service committee. They’re gonna be raising pay either

by 25 or 50 cents every six months. It’s a not, but it’s something. The more they raise their wages, the more our tuition goes up, so keep that in mind.

Lenape: Similar to the Starbucks thing, I’ve noticed that in other parts of campus, like the Sweet Stop. They’re understaffed and overworking themselves.Bevier: I truly believe that Pandora’s Box has been brought to New Paltz through the form of Shop24. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.- A lot of the reason it keeps breaking is because students keep punching it.- Another part is that the machine is getting used a lot more this year than in past

years because of the new meal plans. There are more glitches that are being dis-covered because no one knew about them beforehand. There’s only 1 person on campus who knows how to fix the machine. Hopefully they’ll train more people soon.

Bouton: Is SUB 209 the same as the MPR? I don’t know where to vote tomorrow.- Lenape: It’s not- Vote in the MPR.

Capen: A lot of math classes don’t provide graphing calculators, which are very ex-pensive, especially if you’re only taking a math class for one semester.Bouton: Recently, a lot of clubs have been having issues with getting space for their meetings. There hasn’t been a lot of consistency: i.e. RHSA happening in SUB 100N right now. I think if there was a way to see who FUSED what online would be super helpful.Lenape: There’s a biochem course with only 24 students in it. They changed it so that only biochem majors can take it, but I’m only bio so I can’t take it, but I need to take it before med school. If they could open another class that’s open to other majors…that would be helpful.Bouton: AMA had a technical glitch with their charter and weren’t able to submit it, and they’re being denied a full budget for next year. A lot of us have gone to their programs, a Taste of New Paltz and the Puppy Bowl are 2 I can think of off the top of my head. They’ve been on this campus for over 30 years, and being de-nied their budget because of a technical glitch is unreasonable.- SA has a new charter system that’s a tier system. They’ll still be getting some

money.- Sammi: They can always fund request from us.

OPEN FLOOR 11:10 PMBevier: ToastMasters is this Wednesday 12-1 in VH112. It’s a great time, you can improve your public speaking skills while also networking. Also, I’m running for Senate. Please vote for me April 26th-28th.Bouton: Need volunteer work? Come see me after the meeting about the Color Run. Also Zumba Tuesday 5:15 in the water.Esopus: Will we be back from retreat in time for the Color Run?- Yes, Sammi will make sure of it.Mike: Snaps to everyone for surviving election season.Ariana: Congrats to everyone who got elected and to everyone who ran.Bouton: We’re having pizza at 7pm on Wednesday.Jarred: Over spring break, the school of business got these lock down buttons; if you press it, it locks the door from the outside so you can get out, but no one can get it. If you press it, there’s no sort of alarm that goes off, no one will know if it was pressed except for the people in the room. Bouton: Alexandra Cox is coming to lead a discussion about a movie we’re screen-ing. We’re gonna have a crap ton of Caribbean food. It’s on April 30th at 7pm in the basement lounge. Also I’m presenting my thesis in the Honors Center at 3 on April 29th.Crispell: Thursday at 10:30 in Esopus is our last dorm performance!Crispell: We’re having breakfast for dinner on Wednesday from 7pm-9pm in the kitchen. We bought way too much pancake mix and chocolate chips.Bouton: Vote tomorrow from 12-9 in the MPR. Don’t wear political shirts, it’s against the rules. Leave your John Kasich shirts at home.Deyo: If you want the henna without the cultural appropriation, come to Deyo on April 28th!Rui: On Wednesday April 20th, Lou Mayo will be here in LC100 talking about life in the universe, not outside. Are we alone, who knows? We’ll talk about it. Esopus: AfroLatinas is having a program on Respectability politics. It’s gonna be really great, it’s on Thursday at 9pm in SUB209. Also, I’m re-running for Senate,

so if you wanna vote for me again, I would really appreciate it. Also, Esopus Hall is having a de-stress night tomorrow at 9pm. We’ll have ice cream, sweets, good mu-sic, good people, and good vibes.Scudder: Wednesday, April 20th at 8pm, Scudder is having a kindergarten night. Embrace your inner child with finger painting and snacks.Rui: Registration is starting soon, don’t forget your time assignments! Second, it’s gonna be a beautiful week, enjoy it.Ridgeview: After BUZZ, at 8pm on Friday or Saturday at 8pm, Bare Bones is doing Cabaret. It’s free.Lenape: Thanks RHSA for appreciating the AC tonight!

PASSING OF MOLLY THE MOOSE 11:19 PMBouton put an outdated 4 leaf clover necklace on her, she was a little late to the party. They’re passing her to Collango!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK 11:20 PMJudging by the way tonight went, the quote of the week should’ve been “In refer-ence to a previous comment”, but the real quote of the week is: There are 2 kinds of people: those who finish lists.
