How do I log in to WebBoard? Go to http://webboard.nscc.ca/wb. Remember to log in using the username and password sent to you by NSCC Online Learning.

Remember, your WebBoard password is unique! If your NSCC or TLM password changes, your TLM password doesn’t!

Start by getting comfortable
WebBoard is a discussion board. You post messages and participate in discussions with the other people in the course.
click the name of the course to see the discussion topics for that course
click the topic to see the messages or “posts”you’ll see a lightbulb if there’s a new message
When you log in, you’ll see a discussion board for each course you’re taking

How do I navigate around?
There are a couple of ways. Explore and find the way that works best for you.
This is a “cookie crumb trail”. It shows you where you are. You can click the links on your trail to go back.
You can change to “tree view”
If you don’t like “tree view”, you can exit out.
In “tree view” you can see all your topics and messages
in one place.

Can I customize my WebBoard?
You can ... a little bit. Play with the options.

the filters change how your messages are organized

How do I change my profile picture?
Adding a profile picture is a great way to give people a sense of who you are. It doesn’t have to be a picture of yourself. But it should be a picture that helps us get to know YOU! Use your imagination!

Profile pictures have to be this size or SMALLER. Do you need to resize your
picture? Try one of these sites:

Click “Options”
Beside your course, choose “Users”
Does this list match your class roster from PeopleSoft?If it doesn’t, contact your instructional designer.
Choose “Moderator Menu”
How do I see who's enrolled?
One of the first things you do when your course starts is to compare enrollment in your course in WebBoard with your class roster in PeopleSoft.

How do I post an activity or discussion topic?
Most facilitators spark the discussion by posting an activity or discussion topic.

Click “New Topic”
Check “Watch this topic” if you want to get an email every time someone replies to the activity
What’s the subject?
Cut & paste your activity(Becuase you’ve written in Word first, right? :)
Click “Post”

How do I upload a file with my message?
Sometimes you want to share a file (like a Word document) or a picture with your post. You can attach a file when you create your message (just like email).
check “attach file”
once you’ve typed your message, click “post” just like you usually do

click “inline image” if you want a picture to appear in your post (like the post below)
click “browse” to find the file or picture on your
computer
click “upload now” when you’re done
Once I’ve clicked “Upload Now”, my picture appears on my post
click “unknown” if you’’re not sure
That’s your window? Yeah, right.

How do I view my message?
If there are messages on your WebBoard, you’ll be able to view them by clicking on them. Here’s what you’ll see ...

How do I edit or delete my message?
You can edit or delete a message any time! Some people ask how they delete a whole topic. That’s tricky. To delete a topic, you have to delete the messages ... one by one.

How do I send WebBoard posts to my email?Some people find that it’s easy to stay on top of things if they get their WebBoard posts sent to their email. If you’d like to try, it’s simple! Don’t worry, you can always turn it off again.
Notice that the link changes after you click it? Click it again anytime to
turn off WebBoard emails.
Click “Watch this Topic” at the bottom of the conversation.
