CamfectingComputer webcam viruses is called Camfecting. Camfecting- attempting (or succeeding) to access

someone’s webcam and control it without them knowing. Examples: start recordings or taking pictures.

Your computer can become diagnosed by clicking on an application your hacker sent you, better known as a Trojan Horse. This is when you use your better judgment to determine if it’s too good to be true.

PoisonIvyOccurred in 2005.Allowed the attacker to control the computer that

was hacked, “undercover.”Hacker can do anything they want when using

your computer from another device. Examples: Controlling your webcam and speakers, accessing your files, changing settings, downloading music, etc.

Back OrificeIn the 1990’s a program by Cult of the Dead Cow

was published called Back Orifice.Not only could it control webcams, but also open

up CD-ROM doors.Back Orifice did not spread on it’s own.

RbotRbot is another computer webcam virus.This can also allow the hacker to control the

webcam and audio, but also type things.Rbot is an “offspring” from Back Orifice, meaning

Reveton RansomwareFake FBI message.The hacker uses a fake FBI message telling the

owner that their computer could be involved in criminal activity. The message suggests the user to pay a fine using a prepaid credit card, which then allows the hacker to use your computer.

It is designed to take your money and shows live footage of anything going on in front of your webcam.
