Using the SEEC FormatBased upon historical evidence, it seems that the Paris

Peace Agreement was not fair to the losing powers of the

war. In other words, the treaty did not consider the losing

powers views, but instead looked to punish them forstarting the war.For example, Germany was forced to

accept the terms of the agreement without consideration

of their own terms. With the Allied powers constantly

reminding Germany of their defeat, the Allied powers

gave Germany and the other losing countries very littlesay in the decisions made at the Paris Peace Conference

(Doc. A). As a result, Germany ended up having to pay

massive reparations, colonial territories and their military

control, further demonstrating how very unfair the treaty

was to the losing powers of World War I.

Overall, the Treaty of Versailles satisfied the goalsof the Allied nations, particularly France.

Germany was now too weak to start another

    European War

Still strong enough to help stop the spread of

    Communism.

Russia became Communist in late 1918

French border with Germany is safe from futureGerman attacks.

    Created the League of Nations.

This would help promote peace and trade

    throughout the world.

which blamed them for starting the war.

Thought reparations were immoral and unjust.

The new German Government that had agreedto the treaty became known as the "November

    mistakes of Kaiser Wilhelms government

Historians view the German dissatisfaction with
