Principal’s Message:
Dear Families of Bowmore Rd. P. S.,
The sun is out, the grass is green and it seems as if we can finally say good-bye to our coats and boots. It must be
either May or June! The school year is winding down and now more than ever we need to remind our students that
their hard work and effort will pay off. The staff is committed to pushing through the last few weeks and are
hopeful and excited about the prospect of excellence that our students have shown so far.
With the strong leadership of Bowmore`s Wellness Team we celebrated Children`s Mental Health Week with a daily
focus on a variety of initiatives to support mental health. Students from Grades 4-8 had yoga sessions and learned
the benefits of an active lifestyle. Our school is poised and ready for Jump Rope 4 Heart as we recently had our kick
off assembly. Our students will continue learning about healthy lifestyles.
Please join us in congratulating our staff and students who put on an amazing performance of Into the Woods! It is
always great to see all the talent at Bowmore.
Bowmore is a wonderful place to be!
Sincerely,
Heather, Steve and Talcia

Bowmore Teacher Awarded:
Prime Minister’s Certificate for Teaching Achievement
We are pleased to announce that Bowmore’s very own Graham Seater is a recipient of one of this year's
prestigious Prime Minister's Certificates for Teaching Achievement.
The awards, issued by the Prime Minister's office since 1993, honour exceptional elementary and
secondary school teachers in all disciplines, recognizing teachers across the country for their remarkable
achievements in education and for their commitment to preparing their students for a digital and
innovation-based economy.
Graham Seater is recognized for his ambitious vision of the two-year kindergarten program: "an organic
whole in which leadership opportunities for young children grow naturally out of classroom projects.
Students and parents emerge with a special faith in the limitless potential of young children to access
the world and invent their own."
Congratulations Graham!
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Nellie Hollywood (ECE in Graham's class), they make a
fabulous team! And as well, to Bowmore parent / writer Alison Frost for her writing expertise and
handling the submission of this award.
