Guests are accommodated in unique thatched Garden and River Chalets and Courtyard
Hotel Rooms, which either overlook the beautiful gardens or the impressive Sabie River.

After an elephant shower and buffing of their impressive tusks, the six Elephant Whispers’ elephant arrive squeaky clean to collect the beautiful bride, and transport her in grand style for her walk down the aisle. The deck at the Elephant Whispers dam is a lovely, romantic setting for couples to exchange their wedding vows. After the service, the wedding party join the
elephant for a wonderfully unique wedding photo shoot.

Hippo Hollow Restaurant is a spacious, light venue with doors opening
on two sides to views of the gardens and the Sabie River. There is an
expansive deck off the one side and the bar forms part of the Restaurant.
The venue hire includes the restaurants chairs, tables and white linen, staff and all cutlery and crockery.
IMBuvu SuITE Max Guests: 70 Venue Hire: R 5 000
The Imbuvu Suite is ideal for more intimate weddings. The venue opens
onto the lush gardens and a swimming pool.
This includes the conference chairs, tables and white linen, staff and all cutlery and crockery.
SHaNGaaN RIvER CluB Max Guests: 150 Venue Hire: R 8 000
For guests wanting a cultural experience, Shangaan River Club caters
for wedding festivities under a thatched boma where extraordinary
entertainment and magnificent food together form a celebratory feast in
the true sense of the word.
This includes the Shangaan wooden benches and tables, staff and all cutlery and crockery.
For all three venues, should you wish to use different tables and chairs we can hire in at an extra cost. Draping and other décor can also be arranged.

aCCOM M OdatiOnHippo Hollow is conveniently located on a secure Country Estate where a good night sleep is just a stroll from your wedding celebrations, keeping your guests and loved ones safe.
This is not your standard accommodation establishment, Hippo Hollow is non-traditional with a refreshing “Out-of-Africa” vibe leaving you feeling totally relaxed.
The 37 thatched chalets and 54 air-conditioned hotel rooms overlook the picturesque gardens with two swimming pools or the mighty Sabie River. All rooms and chalets have en-suite bathrooms and tea/coffee facilities and are furnished with touches of local wood for a traditional finish.
The beautifully maintained gardens are home to a wonderful variety of bird species, and the Sabie River attracts hippo, crocodiles, monkeys, waterbirds and even elephants from Elephant Whispers.
A special rate will be given to all guests booking to attend your wedding reception.
2014 Bed and Breakfast rate: adults: r750 per person sharing Children under 12 years: r250 per child sharing (Maximum 2 children sharing in family suite)
A day room for the bride to dress, will be included with the first 10 rooms that are confirmed.
All Wedding Couples receive a complimentary stay at Hippo Hollow Hotel on their wedding night, with romantic turn down and a champagne breakfast.
Plus a complimentary 1-night stay to celebrate the couples 1st Wedding Anniversary!
ChiL d p OL iCYHippo Hollow is a child-friendly environment. The hotel has four family rooms that comfortably accommodate a family of 4. Children under the age of 2 stay and eat for free. Babysitting services can be arranged in advance at R50 per hour. Kiddies entertainment and menus are available on request.
fOOd & B eVeRageMenus
Variety of set and buffet menu’s, as well as exclusive tailor-made gourmet menus to suit your budget.

Menu’s start from R285 per person – which includes a 3-course meal, welcome drinks and arrival snacks.
Midnight snaCks
A nice touch to the end of the evening for all your die-hard wedding guests. Mini hamburgers, mini boerewors rolls etc.
WelCoMe drinks
These are served after the ceremony in a pre-determined area while the bridal photos are being taken. These drinks will be accompanied by snacks and a selection of antipasto. Charges will vary according to the selection. We also offer exclusive wine tasting during these times – available at an additional cost.
Beverages
A licensed cash bar is available. We recommend that red wine, white wine and sparkling wines are pre-selected from our wine list. We prefer not to serve any wines that are not listed on our wine list, however, we will consider special requests.
Hippo Hollow Restaurant is a licensed premise and you are therefore not permitted to bring in or consume your own alcohol or soft drinks.
Any changes to the bar requirements or wine selection are to be done in writing.
Set-Up and CU t-Off tiMeSSet-up is from 07h00 on the day of your function. All outside contractors are expected to remove items by 10h00 the morning after our function. Hippo Hollow does not accept any responsibility for any items left in the venue after the function.
StaffingWaiters and bar staff are included in your quote. The venue is available to you until 24h00, at 23h30 the last rounds will be called and the bar is closed strictly at 23h45. In the case where you request overtime, a rate of R50 per staff member per hour is charged with the absolute final round being called at 01h30.
RiSk, L OSS OR daMageS• Whilst every precaution will be taken to ensure the safeguarding of your belongings,
Hippo Hollow shall not be held liable for loss or damage to any property whatsoever. We recommend that personal and valuable property be removed directly after your function.
• Hippo Hollow shall not be held responsible for any interruptions of services (water, electricity etc).
• Should the Hippo Hollow buildings, surrounding gardens, décor or napery be damaged by the client, client’s guests or suppliers during set up or breakdown operations and during the functions, the client shall be held responsible and will be billed accordingly. The client will be expected to complete a credit card authorization of R 2 000 which will be deducted as necessary.
COnfiRM atiOnS & paYMentS• A deposit of R10 000 will be required to secure the venue, and the final payment to be
made 14 days prior to function.
• All menus and confirmation of final numbers to be confirmed 14 days prior to the function. The final numbers confirmed will be charged for unless attendance is greater.
• The client must confirm all changes and cancellations in writing.
• The balance of the food and beverage charges, estimated after 24h00 hour charges, pre-arranged bar costs and any additional costs must be paid for before the client leave the premises.

> Roast butternut, goats milk chevin and tomato tart with herb salad and balsamico.
> Chef’s salad of baby spinach, bean sprouts, tomato, cucumber, croutons, pancetta, Danish feta with creamy French dressing.
> Cardomon Roast Butternut Soup, with coconut cream and crushed sesame oil.
> Yellowfin tuna tartare with avocado, lime and lemongrass foam.
> Prawn tempura on micro leaves with mango and sweet chilli sauce.
> Chilli salt squid on avocado carpaccio and lemon aioli.
> Caprese salad of buffalo mozzarella, tomato and avocado with basil pesto.
> Beef carpaccio with mustard and balsamic cream, rocket and parmesan.
> Wild mushroom and camembert soup with cranberry and sesame croute.
> Fresh Norwegian salmon ceviche, on rocket and sour cream salad with lemongrass and dill emulsion.
> Chicken liver and ham hock pate with health toast, baby greens and Cumberland sauce.
> Parma ham and melon with light verjuice syrup.
> Smoked salmon and mozzarella spring rolls on marinated baby vegetable salad.
