HUGH TAYLOR BIRCH STATE PARK Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Located across the street from Ft. Lauderdale’s most infamous beach, this picturesque park features mature trees that canopy every turn. Birch is an ideal setting for the boho-chic bride or the rustic-beard-toting groom looking for a natural woodsy location in the heart of the big city. This park’s pride and joy is the banyan tree that Mr. Birch planted over 120 years ago! Pictured here this tree creates ample shade from the South Florida heat and provides a gorgeous back drop for any dress or color scheme. Surrounded by two large open fields, a sand volley ball court, a playground, restroom, parking and three pavilions this is the ideal location for large parties or can be made intimate for close family weddings. Under the tree your ceremony can hold up to 250 guests and a fully decorated arch or chuppah. No need to go far after the ceremony, have our team set up your reception in one of the two open areas around the tree to continue your outdoor vibe. With lights crisscrossing overhead you and your guests will feel as though they left the city and are dancing under the stars deep in the country. DR. VON D. MIZELL-EULA JOHNSON STATE PARK Dania Beach, FL
Formerly John U. Lloyd, only the name has changed at this prime water front park. Offering some of the most private beaches in Broward County, this park has several waterfront locations to say your I do’s. Get hitched on top of the rocks on the jetty at the north end of the park or wiggle your toes in the sand at the south end in an open area surrounded by beach and dunes. Both beach areas can hold up to 120 seated guests or 175 standing. With most of the park’s pavilions situated a few feet from the breaking waves, you have several options to choose from in search of the perfect view. You could
have your ceremony in the sand then join your wedding party at the Marina pavilion where you can party all night just off the Intracoastal Waterway. You and your partner can make a grand entrance or exit on a boat docked a few yards from where your guests will be enjoying good music and delicious food catered by our on property restaurant, Whiskey Creek Hideout. The Marina pavilion, though not on the beach side does boast a feature no other pavilion has…a raised round deck! Brides love the look of the deck at night with the lights circling their guests as they dance and party into the night. Want to get married outdoors? This park has the perfect combination of mature trees and water front! With its own 1200-ft beach, you can get married on the water have your reception on the sands of the beach. Park Rangers will block of a section of the beach for you to have as your very own private retreat to tie the knot. Stay in the cabins the night before and have a private dinner with your bridal party as a unique way to say thank you. With one of the largest pavilions of the three parks, the White Ibis pavilion is located on the Intra-coastal Waterway side and can hold up to 150 guests! If you have a smaller party even better as the center of the pavilion can be used as a dance floor! Situated behind a wall of mature palms and sea grape trees, the White Ibis also has a large grassy field that can be all yours on the big day. Restroom are nearby as well. With such a large property you are sure to find the right spot for your dream wedding.
