Christmas Service

This year Christmas Day falls on a Sunday. We will have one service at 10:30 a.m. in the Worship Center. We hope everyone will invite friends and family who are in town to join us. To celebrate the season, we have a special activity this year: we are asking every family to bring one (or more!) poinsettias on December 18, to morning worship. We will collect these on the stage at both services. Then on December 25, all attendees will be encouraged to take a poinsettia to their neighbors with a special Christmas greeting from the church after services as a sign of goodwill and to share our joy in the true reason for every season — Jesus Christ!

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

Objectives All members, guests, and office staff remain safe during all weather events. Provide the opportunity for quality corporate worship, classes, and events for those who can arrive safely.

Responsibilities Nothing the leadership decides about continuing or cancelling events at the

church building should be implied to remove anyone’s personal responsibility for making sound decisions regarding their own safety and the safety of their family and the community. In other words, the “doors being open” does not imply that everyone can travel safely or should attempt to travel to the building.

We realize that every person’s travel risks are different based on many factors. During certain conditions, some may be able to travel safely while others may not. Individuals are personally responsible for assessing the risks and making safe choices regarding travel during inclement weather.

When we make decisions to hold services during less than desirable weather conditions, members should not feel pressured to attend.

If the leadership determines that events at the building will continue as scheduled, event leaders and sponsors may decide based on relevant factors to cancel their events.

Individuals are personally responsible for providing current contact info if they desire to receive communications about weather cancelations. Office staff will periodically publish procedures and requests for updates.

Notifications For notifications of weather related closure be watching for email alerts, text alerts, or check the local news channels. If you are not currently receiving text alerts and would like to, simply text ‘JOIN BVILLECOC’ to 40650.

PICTURES NEEDED!!! As the year winds down, we are working on creating a video that reflects all that has happened in our church family in the last year. We’d like to acknowledge births, baptisms, church events, small group meetings, and anything else that involves our members in 2016. If you have pictures you can share, please send them to [email protected]. We’d also like to include those members who have passed on this year in honor of their memory. Deadline will be December 22. Thanks!
