Behaviour – Well Done!
At the Academy we use the reward and consequence system to warn children if their behaviour is not of the
acceptable standard. Children should follow the school rules; Be Safe, Be Responsible and Be
Respectful. The totals below show how many children have achieved this each week.

We had an amazing afternoon at our reading picnic with all of our family members! We hope we will be reading lots of new books at home!
Y2 Year 2 have had another fantastic week. We started our MEGA
work by looking at Superheroes and
thinking of names for our groups. In
Science this week we looked at the life
cycle of a frog and made our own models
of the different
stages using play
dough. What a
fantastic week!

Everybody has now settled into Year 1 and we have all had an amazing week. It is lovely to see so many happy, smiling faces greeting me on a morning. This week we have been looking at 1 more and 1 less in maths. We have learnt how to find the number in different ways and started recording the answer in a variety of ways. In English, we have been reading 'Max' and looking at the sequence of the story and the start, middle and end.
Y4/5
Year 4/5 have been working really hard this week and produced some excellent work. In English, we have been working on the 'mystery' genre. In Maths, we have been focussing on place value us-ing our mathematical resources to help understand what each number is representing.
Y3 This week in 3W we have continued to learn about the Anglo-Saxons in MEGA, making and designing our own buildings and villages. We have also worked extremely hard with our maths, pushing ourselves to complete silver and gold questions on place value. Finally, we have enjoyed reading the beginning of our whole class text 'Bill's new frock' and we can't wait to find out what happens next.
Y3/4
This week we set ourselves a mini MEGA mission to find out what Anglo-Saxon houses looked like. We then designed and made our own models! Also, the class have excelled in maths, counting in 100s, 50s and 25s, with most children moving onto gold in every session!
FS2
Y6D This week, Year 6 have been working hard on their explanations on what caused World War One. They explored the MEGA mission: How were people re-cruited in the war?
Y6C This week year 6 have been taking a closer look at how our body works by studying the circulatory system. The children have shown some great research skills and I'm looking forward to putting their knowledge into practice when we complete a practical experiment next week!
Y5
TT Rockstars will be launching back into action next week, so can we try have a big push on using this at home as well as school!? Can you make it to Rock Hero level and beat your teacher's time?
