Sport-a-thon
SPORT-A-THON - a few facts for you. We have organised a Sport-a-thon as a fund
raising effort to provide improved class-room furniture and equipment for all stu-dents.
K-6 will be participating in a range of fun engaging sports activities designed by the teachers.
Students will be in their Peer Support groups for the event-wearing their house colours.
WHAT CAN YOU DO? Ask as many sponsors as you can to help fundraise for our SPORT-A-THON. Sponsorship forms were sent home last week - see the front office if you need another one. WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN? Friday 21st June.
P&C Meeting – Next Tuesday 18 June 6:30pm
All are welcome at the P&C meeting next Tuesday
at the Golf Club. All welcome, especially new par-
ents!
Multicultural Public Speaking - All year 3-6 clas-
ses have been presenting their speeches in class
so that the representative students can compete
in the school selection trials on Wednesday 12
June in the school hall. Parents are welcome to
come and support the student speeches from
which a junior and senior team will be selected to
compete at the area competition on 26 June.
Athletics Track Carnival – Friday 28 June
The carnival is for all students Yrs 2-6 (8 yrs up)
participating in the track carnival at Gundary oval
commencing at 9am. All students are expected to
compete in their age race at least and will need
to bring plenty of water, hats and warm clothes
in case the weather becomes cold. Parents and
friends are welcome to attend. There is a great
need for as much parent help as possible as offi-
cials on the day please let Mrs Allison know if you
are able to assist.
Sport Update:
The boys soccer team played against Vincentia PS
today at Gundary Oval The winner goes to the
fifth round in the state knockout.
The rugby league team played against Batemans
Bay PS last Friday and while they lost they played
very well.
The girls softball team plays against Pambula this
Thursday and the boys touch team plays also that
day.

Student reports and Interviews
As with previous years, student reports will be
given to parents at an interview time convenient
to both. Interviews will be conducted in the last
week of term on 3 & 4 July and other times will
be made available for your convenience. Class
notes will be sent home for parents to complete
and select a time that suits.
Staff Training
This week staff will be trained in music teaching.

PEER SUPPORT Congratulations to our Yr6 Peer Support Leaders who are doing a fantastic job! This week in Peer Support we will focus on types of friends. We will identify our common interest and the qualities of our best friends. We will al-so talk about different types of friends.

University of NSW Competitions
This year the format of the University of NSW Competitions has changed and all assessments will be online. The UNSW Competitions assess students abilities in a range of subject areas. These are optional and incur a fee of $14.50 per assessment if you would like your child to participate.
The assessments will take place in September. For more information you can visit www.unsw.global/ICAS.
This year we will provide the opportunity for students in years 3-6 to sit the assessments in
Mathematics and English.
Parents can now register and pay for the assessments online and UNSW will inform the school of your child's participation.
Please visit the new online Parent Payment System at http://www.unsw.global/parentpay and enter our school code 4d2b3a2162 to make a direct payment to UNSW Global if you would like your child to par-ticipate. Online payments will close on 31 July 2019.
If you are not sure whether or not this might be suitable or if finance is an issue please speak to your child's teacher. For further information please contact Mrs Davis.
Daniel & Darryl just having a yarn …..
This term the
Giraffes have been
learning how to write procedures. We have made some folded paper animals. We have also been cooking choc chip biscuits and pike-lets. Last week we made funny face biscuits. Yum! After we made our spaghetti and marshmallow tower for Science, we got to eat the marshmallows.

SOCCER TODAY:
Congratulations to our soccer boys who won today against Vincentia at Gundary. We won 3-2 in extra time and will now play the winner of Merimbula and Cooma at a time to be announced. Well done boys, you played really well.
