THE MUD CUBBY MUSICAL STOMP… The event on Friday was fantastic. Around 200 people showed up to enjoy the mud, music and puppet show. Thank you so much for the support the Bay Post gave to the event with notices and pictures in last week’s papers. “Uniting Ability Links has provided over half of the funding for new inclusive playground areas at Moruya Public School.

The centre point of this Moruya P&C project is a mud cubby. Building the cubby is an all of community experience. It com-bines music therapy, tactile experiences and best of all having fun together as everyone fits in while mucking in. The communi-ty is really behind it. Lots of local businesses have provided free materials and labour to make this happen. The turnout at Fri-day’s event was fantastic with people coming from all over the Shire to take part in it.” Ann Murphy

NETBALL AT BROULEE On Thursday two Moruya netball teams went to Broulee. Each team played three games. It was very horrible weather because it was raining. Most people hadn’t played before, they had a good try and did well. Rhianna made it to the top fifteen but didn’t quite make it to the top ten. Well done to her. Everyone tried their hardest and had a GREAT time. Our biggest thanks to Mrs Allison and Mrs Coppin. By Ella, Ada and Bianca.

WHAT’S BEEN HAPPENING IN THE CLASSROOM THIS WEEK….with 2N Every Wednesday since the beginning of this term, Mrs Brantingham has come in to do some craft with us. Year 3 and Year 4 each got to make something by sewing different materials together. Year 4 got to make a bag with a pocket. Firstly we had to choose some materials for our bags and our pockets. Next, we learnt how to do a pocket stitch to sew our pockets on, and then we folded our bags inside out and stitched the edges together. Mrs Brantingham then finished our bags with string as handles. Year 3 got to make some puppets. Firstly we cut out some paper into different shapes, then cut out some felt in the same shapes. We pinned them together and chose what sort of animal it would be. We then sewed them all together and glued on the ears and eyes and now we are going to do a play. Thank you Mrs Brantingham for taking the time to help us and teach us how to sew.
