Please remember to bring in Box Tops for Education and Campbell soup labels. Remember that ANY MONEY must be sent to school in an envelope with the use for the money labeled on the envelope as well as the child’s full name, class, and grade. It is very important that you notify me of any transportation changes. I must have a note in writing to allow your child to leave in a different way. Shoes, Shoes, Shoes: Please help your child at home learn to tie his/her shoes. We do not want your child to fall and hurt themselves at school. TumbleBooks TumbleBook is an online collection of animated, talking picture books which teach children the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks are created by adding animation, sound, music and narration to existing picture books in order to produce an electronic picture book which you can read, or have read to you. WHAT WE ARE LEARNING:

Math- Place Value/addition and subtractionScience- What are the states of Matter? Social Studies- Georgia Beginnings/SequoyahVocabulary:Social Studies

Math (see strategies we have and are working on in class. Packet coming home and it will be posted on my blog)Addend- a number which is involved in addition. Numbers being added are considered to be the addends. Total- the sum or whole amountSum- total Difference- The difference is what is found when one number is subtracted from another. Finding the difference in a number requires the use of subtraction.Equal- having the same amount or valueunknown numberEquations- A statement showing the equality of two expressions usually separated by left and right signs and joined by an equals sign.

AgendasPlease make sure you are checking your child’s agenda everyday and initialing it. Their behavior number will be written in it each day, notes from us, and important information. HomeworkHomework will be done in a composition book with a monthly calendar. In addition to this homework, your child is required to read 20 minutes each night. Please write the title of the book they read and initial it each night in their agendas. Starting this week your student will be responsible for completing 3 spelling activities with their spelling words. This will be due on Fridays!PTAPlease join PTA if you haven’t already. The membership fee is $7.00. T-Shirts are $10.00.
