Dear people, We read the Gospel of St Luke, where Martha is doing all the work and Mary listens to the Word of the Lord. It is true, that we are so busy in our lives, as the bills must be paid, the housework and shopping must be done. In our hecc and somemes franc world, the Word of God cannot be heard only, but a silent whisper. In our home, when the kitchen clock chimes 6pm, it is our “Family Time”. The TV and radio are turned off, we say our prayer, for a wonderful day and the work of our hands, and the blessings of abundant food, and the loving people around our table. Peace and God’s Word are to be found, everyday in our lives. Let us set aside a me for God’s Word everyday, as He will never forget us, ever. Please let us know if there are any issues you would like discussed. I grew up in a traditional Catholic family where Sunday Masses and frequent Confessions were considered an obligation. As my home parish is pastored by the Redemptorist Religious, so Wednesday Novenas were part of our weekly religious schedules. More so, I got to accompany my Grandma to Church, as she needed assistance with stairs and walking during my grade school days. Little by little, these Sundays and religious obligations become like a need, like our need for water, food and other supplements. How do we approach our Sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation? Is it a penance to do so, or is it liberating and strengthening? Maybe it depends upon the homily and the music? I know that we ministers have to do our examination of conscience too. However, the Sacraments have the power to penetrate the deepest needs of our body and soul regardless of who is the celebrant or whatever music is played. In short, there is healing and refreshing moments in our Sacraments. It is an encounter with our Risen Lord. It is beneficial to do so. Blessed Sunday Fr Jimmy God’s divine goodness and self-expression are wrien in all creaon. They can be read in the ‘book of creaon.’ The ‘book of creaon’ actually gives us a glimpse of its writer.
