A Message from Fr. Gary....Dear Parishioners and Friends,

Almost every day since March 15, I have come into our church to record Mass and to pray for you. Our church building is so beautiful. Its glass, mosaics, and art are as perfect as imperfect human beings can produce. BUT …… without you in the benches, her bright beauty was dimmed. Without you gathered in prayer our church seemed more like a museum or a studio than God’s house of prayer.

That is why I am so looking forward to our reopening next week – because the true beauty of Our Lady of Peace is not frozen in bricks and mortar – it is living in you. Thank you for being a faithful and essential part of this parish family.

Let’s spend some time this week in prayer that God will prepare us to “go rejoicing to the house of the Lord” and that our magnificent church will never again be deprived of the beauty and treasure of God’s people. Welcome Home! -Fr. Gary

The Twenty-Fourth Sunday In Ordinary Time

Welcome Home Weekend At Our Lady Of PeaceSeptember 12-13, 2020

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Edward C. Malesic as Bishop-designate for the Diocese of Cleveland. He will be installed as the 12th Bishop of Cleveland on Monday September 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, in a Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist beginning at 2:00 p.m. All are encouraged to watch a livestream of the Mass online at dioceseofcleveland.org as this event is ticketed and seating is severely limited due to the current public health crisis.

The Mass and installation can also be viewed live on EWTN and heard live and online at AM 1260 – The Rock - Cleveland Catholic Radio, and AM 1060 Living Bread Radio.

Installation of Bishop Malesic

Welcome Fr. Andrew Morkunas

I join the Our Lady of Peace community as a priest in residence with ministry as chaplain at University Hospital. I pray that I will be able to assist Fr. Chmura and Fr. Mtey in bringing the true presence of Jesus to all of God’s people in our parish and the surrounding area. I am a priest of the Archdiocese of Washington but a native of Euclid. My home parish is the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help (now St. Casimir’s) in the Lithuanian community. I pray that in a few short years I will be an incardinated priest of Cleveland serving the people of God where I was born and raised. May the Truth that is Jesus Christ always be in your heart.

Online Evening for PeaceThis Saturday, September 12, 2020, join us online for an evening of peace. September 11, 2020 is a mixed time for us at Our Lady of Peace. We celebrate together at the founding of our parish by Fr. Cummins on September 11, 1919, never knowing what the future would bring on September 11, 2001.

We remember those who suffered on that day. We continue to pray for and support all First Responders. Together, we as a community of believers, pray for peace in our home, community, country and world.

Join us on our Website-www.olpchurch.com, Facebook or our Youtube Page for an evening of prayer, beautiful music, and reflections by some of our 100th Anniversary committee members as they reflect on their experiences during our Centennial year celebration,

The evening begins at 7:00pm, and will continue to be available for replay on our Youtube Page.

Sunday Evening VespersSunday evening, we begin to restart the praying of evening Vespers. We had faithfully been coming together during this Centennial year, prior to the pandemic. This is a great opportunity to spend a few moments in prayer and reflection to end your weekend of celebration, remembrance and peace.

Vespers will stream online beginning at 7:00pm on our Website-www.olpchurch.com, Facebook and our Youtube Page, and will continue to be viewed on demand.
