The North American Free Trade Agreement, NAFTA, zone is the main destination for Mexico's car exports, accounting for 85.4 percent of the total, the industry's association (AMIA) said. From January to April, production reached 1.2 million cars, up 13.6 percent from the same period last year. Chapulín Colorado: The movie Querétaro — The animated movie of the Mexican classic comedy show "El Chapulín Colorado" is in post-production stage and will be ready in three years, said producer Roberto Gómez. "We are studying the possibility of making the film to international standards, as if it were produced in any of the big Hollywood studios," he added. Cancun to host OAS summit Washington — This year's Organization of American States, OAS, summit will take place in Cancun, Mexico. The summit, from June 19 to 21, was originally planned for Mexico City, but the proposal by Mexican ambassador to the OAS, Luis Alfonso de Alba, of holding it in Cancun was accepted by the organization's permanent council. Tesla hiring Mexican engineers for U.S. plant Berlin — Tesla, the U.S.-based electric car maker, is looking for new engineers in Mexico to work at one of its plants, going against all policies from U.S. President Donald Trump. A German car industry magazine asked "why is Tesla doing it? It's a move that could cause conflict with Trump's government". The question has yet to be answered. Tesla published an ad in LinkedIn where it said it was looking for Mexican engineers. Mexico: First Latin American guest at Hannover Messe Hannover — Mexico is the first Latin American invited as a guest to the Hannover Messe industrial fair, said Marco Siebert, the Deutsche Messe consortium's International Relations chief. "The first thing we considered when inviting Mexico was its leadership in industrial production and ability to attract investment to that sector. There's a large number of companies and factories operating there," Siebert added. Mexican among crew members of simulated Mars trip Mexico — Yair Piña López, a student of the Science Faculty at Mexico's National Autonomous University, UNAM, is among the crew members on a simulated trip to Mars.
