Science Workshop On Friday 6th March we are holding a Forensic Science
Workshop to celebrate British Science Week. This is a fun event showing how science works in the real world.
Each class will have to solve a crime using their observing, exploring and questioning skills. They will have to identify, collect, interpret and
analyse clues and evidence.
As part of the fun we asking the children to dress-up as scientists/ detectives/ explorers / investigators on the day.
This will be instead of dressing-up on World Book Day.
To cover the cost of both the Science Workshop and the Poetry Workshop (see below) we are asking for a total donation of £5 per child. If insufficient donations
are received this event may not be able to go ahead. Please send this into school in a named envelope as soon as possible.
Poet Visit—Andy Tooze

Afterwards there will be an opportunity for you to purchase personally signed copies of Andy’s latest poetry collection.
To cover the cost of both the Science Workshop and the Poetry Workshop we are asking for a total donation of £5 per child. Please send this into school in a named
envelope by Wednesday 4th March.

World Book Day - 5th March
We would like the children to bring in a non-fiction (information) book to share in class. As part of a home learning challenge, we would like them to make a mobile about their non-fiction book to hang-up in school. There will be a prize for the most creative in each class. Please send them in on Thursday 6th March.
NOTE: No dress-up day today.

Nursery Open Morning
Paper-free from Summer Term
We are doing our bit for the environment, and trying to reduce the amount of letters and flyers that we send home with the children. After the Easter Holiday in April 2020 we shall be posting all our flyers and reminders on our Schudio App only.
Please make sure you have the App on your phone or tablet to keep upto date. Instructions on how to install the App are included at the back of the Newsletter.
A Big Thank-You
Well done to all our children who took part in the Sponsored PE session with Kristian Thomas before half term. The children have raised an amazing total of £1,319.56!!
This will be split between equipment for our school, GB athletes and para-Olympians.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored a child, they all had great fun on the day. We will keep you posted when we receive the new PE equipment.
Does your child turn 3 between 1st September 2019 and 31st August 2020?
If so, they will be eligible to start in our School Nursery in September 2020.
We are holding an Open Morning on Thursday 19th March at 10am for
parents and children to come and visit to meet the staff and look round the setting.
Marie Curie

Fire Safety Talk—Yr1
On the last day before the holiday, our Year One children had a visit from Warwickshire Fire Service.
They had a interactive presentation, learning about Fire Safety and then had chance to practice their ‘Stop, Drop, Roll’ technique. This is a simple fire safety
technique if clothes catch on fire.
Each child was given an activity mat to take home, reinforcing the key messages that were given during the session.
