• Du passé par le présent vers l’avenir (from past over present to the future):– What have we learned from the FEAB (Federation
Européenne des Associations de Brulés)?– The first steps of EBCA– The initial members of EBCA – The supporting partners of EBCA– The funding of EBCA– Some homework to be done (statistics + info doc)
The first steps of EBCA
• Starting with a very limited group of associations
• Starting with the paperwork (statutes of EU npo)
• Starting with initial funding• Starting with a central back-office• In order to get the organization up and
running as fast as possible
The initial partners of EBCA
• From the patients’ point of view:– Vzw Pinocchio asbl– ABF– NBS
• From the supporting point of view:– EFA– EFRA (Albemarle, ICL, Chemtura)– BRK– Eurosprinkler– BAP Medical
The present goals of EBCA• An international not for profit
organization• Founded in October 2008 to better
support the national burn patient associations, – in a coordinated way– In a permanent way (sec., HQ fix)– In order to better defend the rights of
the burn patients on a European level (towards EU officials and stakeholders)
– With a central information point– Funded by all parties concerned with
better prevention and better rights for the burn patients
The funding of EBCA
• Every organization or company involved in the goals of EBCA can support us financially, provided:– They have a long term view (multi-year
agreement)– They allow us to keep our independence– They support us with practical knowledge for all
EBCA members and contacts– They help us to reach our targets

…) – Causes of burn incidents– Number of victims (casualties, SBC, hospital ER, GP…)– Damage caused by fires to families and society
