Welcome!Thank you for considering our camps for your child this summer! Our goal is to provide a positive educational experience for all campers in a safe and fun environment. Your child’s safety while attending camp is a priority for us. Our procedures are carefully planned to ensure an enjoyable and safe experience at Kids in College. Our camp is in good standing with Maryland State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. We adhere to all state regulations and are inspected regularly by the state.Critical information for camper families will be found on pages 25-29. If your child is enrolled in Cooking, FutureMakers, Sports, Sewing or Theater camps, important, camp-specific information is included.

EXPLORE/MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHOLARSEXPLORE and Middle School Scholars (MSS) are enrichment programs for gifted and talented students sponsored by the Advanced Studies Programs Office of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. These camps nurture students’ potential by stimulating thinking, improving reasoning, enhancing creativity and encouraging group interaction. EXPLORE/MSS camps are highlighted in green.

SELECTING YOUR CHILD’S CAMPSGrade levels are based on your child’s enrollment in the 2019-2020 school year. Camps are designed to meet the educational and socialization needs of the campers. Place your child in a grade-appropriate camp. The Kids in College office reserves the right to remove a camper from a camp that is not grade-appropriate and place them in an appropriate camp. The Kids in College and EXPLORE/MSS camps at a glance (pages 1-7) are listed by weeks followed by grade levels. Camp descriptions (pages 9-23) are organized in alphabetical order.

EMAIL VERIFICATIONGo to your child's MyAACC account, then Self-Services; Continuing Education Students; My Profile. Check to be certain the email in your child's account is accurate.

CAMP LOCATION EMAILEach Thursday we will send an email to families with camp locations and important information for the upcoming week.

THINGS TO CONSIDER WHEN SELECTING A CAMP

› Talk with your camper when picking out their camps. We want camp to be a fun experience for each camper but we are not always able to move a camper if they are not happy with their camp.

› Grade levels are based on your child’s grade in the 2019-20 school year. If your child is enrolled in fourth grade in the 2019-2020 school year, you should enroll them in camps designed for grades 2-4.

› If there are multiple sections of a camp, check that you are registering your child in the correct section. You should look at grade levels, as well as camp dates and hours.

› We do our best to accommodate scheduling errors, but sometimes we are unable to move a camper to another session.

› Combine a morning and afternoon camp to make a full day for your child. We will let the morning staff know that your child is having lunch with us and tell them the name of the afternoon camp. After lunch and a recess period, your child will be escorted to their afternoon camp.

› Your child will be supervised by Kids in College staff at ALL times.
