LIVE THE LITURGY Inspiration for the week The flesh is our old self of yesterday and the one we left behind in baptism.

It is the self of doubts and fears, sin and error, reluctance, untamed passion,

and errors in judgment. It is also the self of missed opportunities and roads

untraveled. Although we were baptized many years ago, every day is

another day to live, not according to the flesh of yesterday with its regrets

and misgivings, but rather to live the life of the spirit of today and

tomorrow. The burdens of our personal baggage and of life itself can weigh

us down. The love of Jesus Christ and the life of the spirit can pick us up,

refresh us, and provide us with the hope for new opportunities and

discoveries. Because we have been baptized in Christ, we need not be

anxious about what we did or did not do yesterday or anxious about what

will come tomorrow. We need only to seek out the love that is before us,

around us, and in us and learn.

Strawberry Raffle 2020

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our Blessing Box. This very important ministry could not continue without your generosity! Any donations can be placed directly into the Blessing Box, or dropped off at the parish office during regular business hours.

We have a parishioner who is interested in starting a pickleball group at St. Joseph. Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Before this group could

begin meeting, we would need a general idea of interest. If you are interested in playing pickleball at St. Joseph, please call Dave Lutz at 812-386-3698.

Help our Church and School by using our Scrip program. What is Scrip? A Scrip is a gift card for your favorite

retailer, purchased from our program at St. Joseph Church or School. You pay full face value and the church/school receives a donation from the retailer for selling the gift card. We have 55 retailers, restaurants, gas stations, and groceries in stock, and have access to 700 more. For more information on the SCRIP Program, call the Parish Office at 812-385-2617.

Cemetery News. We ask that no decorations remain on the graves outside of the base and headstone. This is to help with the mowing and trimming of the cemetery. Flowers placed in vases, headstone saddles, shepherd hooks, and the like are always more than welcome. Thank you and God Bless!

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Friday, July 10 - Saturday, July 11

Eucharistic Adoration is on the Second Friday of each month at St. Joseph beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and concluding with Benediction (closing prayer and songs lasting approximately 15 minutes) at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Ministries Soon we will be back in Church. Sarah is working on a new ministry schedule. Please let her know if you do not feel comfortable helping for now or if you would like to sign up for a ministry at 812-664-1373.

Parish Council Meeting Meetings can resume on June 30. With that being said, Parish Council will have a meeting on Thursday, July 9 after the 7 pm Mass. Father Gary will be at this meeting. Everyone on the PC needs to try and attend this meeting!!! There is lots to discuss.

Adoration will resume the First Friday in August. We are looking for some new Adorers. We need someone for the 12-1 slot or anytime you are available. If you are able to help with this, please contact Terri at 812-677-0511 or email her at tziliak@evdio.org.

Church Sanitation If anyone would like to help with sanitizing the church after Mass, please contact Kelly Obert or sign up in the back of church. This will be an ongoing task for the foreseeable future. We would like to have several cleaning crews and we can put them on a monthly schedule. The more we have, the less you will have to clean. This is our church, we must all do our part. Thank you.

Parish Council Nominations Nominations for the Parish Council are needed. If you would like to be on a certain commission that you are not already on or an at-large member, please sign up in the back of church. We will have elections in August. If you have questions about a certain committee, please contact Klint Obert, Parish Council President.
