Years MEMBERSHIP PROFILES Endangered Species MEMBERSHIP PROFILES Endangered Species MEMBERSHIP PROFILES Game Over LOSS of SUSTAINABILITY Slip below critical mass of ~ 20 members From 18 to 16 to 14 Dont realize whats happening Meetings of members = Trouble attracting speakers Trouble attracting new members Trouble executing meaningful projects Aging out together many of these same clubs have few members under 50 At members, 1 or 2 key players are holding the club together One of those gets sick -- Lights out Fact: The 10 clubs in D-7750 with the largest % membership loss this past year account for a NET LOSS of FIFTY-TWO members EIGHT of those are under 25 members MEMBERSHIP PROFILES Recovery MEMBERSHIP PROFILES This Club recovered from 14 Members Today, its 40 Members 40 MEMBERSHIP PROFILES Enroute to 85 Members 77 67 MEMBERSHIP CHALLENGE If your club is over 25 members: Grow your club by 10 members Or 10% If your club is below 25 members Grow to 25 members If youre below 15 members, close the gap between where you are and 25 members by HALF WHATS GETTING IN THE WAY? ROTARY FOUNDATION CHALLENGE Annual Programs Fund -- $150 per capita If your club isnt anywhere close to $150 per capita Close the gap between where you are and $150 by half If your club is over $150 per capita Take the best of your past 5 years and beat it by $ District-Wide Per Capita = $126 ROTARY FOUNDATION CHALLENGE PolioPlus -- $50 per capita If your club isnt anywhere close to $50 per capita Close the gap between where you are and $50 by half If your club is over $50 per capita Take the best of your past 5 years and beat it by $1.00 THE AGs ROLE Help Presidents execute provide: Ideas best practices, things that have worked elsewhere Encouragement Accountability remind them of what they set out to do Motivation SO, WHAT MOTIVATES PEOPLE? Incentives?? SO, WHAT MOTIVATES PEOPLE? KEYS TO MEMBER RETENTION & ATTRACTION? Autonomy People want to be part of something thats self-governing (especially if its bigger than they are) Purpose People want to be part of something meaningful an organization thats making a difference Mastery People want to be part of something thats as good as any and better than most at what it does QUESTIONS Autonomy?? Purpose?? Does a club actually DO enough to keep its members engaged in its Purpose? Is its Purpose clearly part of the Presidents Vision? If not, then whose Vision? Mastery?? Is the club actually working at mastering its game? Does the club know what mastery looks like? THE AGs ROLE Club Communicator Follow up monthly DGto Presidents with a phone call, not anor voic -- Actually get them on the phone At their desk At their computer Reading thetogether EXPECTATIONS Promote and expect Mutual Respect among District and Club leaders Were all volunteers Please don't let your procrastination or lack of responsiveness require another volunteer to spend time following up with you Please grant me the time Im willing to grant you AGs CALENDAR AGs TIMELINE AG CLUB VISIT CHECKLIST GOVERNORS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE PIN Membership Foundation Service GOVERNORS SIGNATURE PROJECT Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) District Grants QUESTIONS?
