Rotor after rough machined packing glands

A turbine rotor came into our Repair facility in Oswego, IL with severe dam-age to packing glands and journals.

Two journal areas, taper coupling fit, packing and seals land areas were repaired by weld restoration.

Damaged areas were prep machined, welded, rough machined, NDE’d, stress relieved and final machined in accordance with PPRS weld restoration procedure.

Final balance was performed to 4W/N tolerance by adding and removing weights as needed from both balance planes and weight location recorded. Contact us today at [email protected] for a quote or visit our website at www.ppsvcs.com for additional information on the parts and repairs PPS & PPRS can assist you with!
