The Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Forte Bank for theirgenerous donation made to the Chamber. As an organization relying on membership andsponsorships for revenue, both of which are negatively affected by COVID19, this couldn'thave come at a better time. This helps us to continue our work to support our membersand local community however we can as we all work forward together.

As we all strive to return to something resembling "normal", it isimportant to remember that normal will, for the foreseeable future,mean dealing with COVID-19 and the attendant interruptions andinconveniences. Operating as if COVID-19 is no longer a factor willleave an organization unprepared and vulnerable.
The US Federal government is preparing for a potential second waveof COVID-19 in the fall. There is no guarantee of a second COVID-19wave in the fall, but pandemics have historically had multiplewaves. All organizations are urged to take this time to examine theiractions up until this point and identify areas forimprovement. Per the Germantown Police DepartmentThey are working with a Madison-basednonprofit with a mission of providing children'sbooks and backpacks to First Responders inWisconsin. When Reach-a-Child enters newcommunities, they generally seek to partnerwith a local business or organization to helpfund the books and backpacks that are placedon every vehicle. They do this to show theirgratitude to the First Responders and to help
any children and families that the FirstResponders need to attend to.
We are looking for local businesses ororganizations that want to learn more aboutthis partnership opportunity. The cost for eachbackpack filled with new children's books andindividual drawstring backpacks is $150. InGermantown there are 17 vehicles in the fleetand there goal is one REACH Bag in eachvehicle.If you are interested in sponsoring, pleasecontact Captain Grenier of the GermantownPolice Department at (262) 253-7780.
